  1. Does anyone know if WPIX uses a 7 second delay on the 8am hour of the newscast?

I've been noticing on FiOS just before the show ends the video jumps forward as if they are going out of delay and we miss a few seconds on the show.

  2. The video captures are 720p up converted to 1080i by the cable box. Yes the video on WABC's news cast is that soft.

WABC needs to turn down the soft filtering and give more bandwidth back to 7.1.

Getting rid of 7.3 would be a good start.

It was mentioned on Friday's Live With Kelly, which was a rerun with a new open and closing segment, that work was going to start on remodeling the studio and expanding into the old WABC news studio.

The plan is for the studio to be ready for April 9th. They have been airing reruns March 19th through the 30th and the show is in Canada this week.

  3. Contessa Brewer did all the Saturday newscasts solo and is back at 6am with Michael Gargiulo.

They must be really short handed if Michael had to work today.

Is there no other WNBC reporter who can fill in as anchor?

If I'm correct Shiba, Chuck and Sue were off most of the week and Pat is off this weekend.

I'm guessing Pat filled in for Darlene who was at the Today Show news desk Saturday.

  4. To follow up on my last post here are some dark studio shots.

The chair on the far right is the most dark camera shot on the AM newscast.

WCBS needs to fix this. They are now darker then WABC's studio.

  5. Heather is one of the rotating news anchors of FOX & Friends First airing 5am on FOX News Channel. The show started March 5th.

She is back on Good Day Wednesday.

Julie Chang was anchoring today as Tai Hernandez was subbing for Rosanna.

  6. Someone please tell WABC to refocus the camera at the Weather Center.

How do they not notice how out of focus it is? It's been like this since Saturday morning.

Either that or they are going ridiculously overboard with the soft filtering.

The news desk cameras have to much soft filtering making the video, especially the wide shots, almost look like SD 16:9,

  7. Can't they adjust the cameras to make the video level a bit brighter from the interview area.

With the WABC Green screen if they do stand closer to it the wall the lighting is better but if they move away the lighting gets much darker.

With WCBS I find the overall lighting for the AM news is darker then the other newscasts.

Specially where the weather and sports people sit on the ends of the desk.
