The schedule for Rewind TV was also released.
That's it? That's a stale lineup if they're going to air it for the entire 7 days.
You would think they would air something different, or at least move the shows around a bit on the weekend.

A small M&A. Weigel gets another LP.
They're acquiring Marshalltown, IA KDAO-CD from MTN Broadcasting for $195K.
Two things come to mind.
One, their signal only serves the immediate Marshalltown area which is northeast of Des Moines. So I wouldn't be surprised if Weigel moves it closer to the capital city, should this deal be completed.Another thing is that Weigel is getting another LP, in the same city where the Hearst station (KCCI) carries their crown jewel MeTV. They also bought an unbuilt LP-permit (in one of the HC2 deals) near Orlando, where another Hearst station (WESH) carry MeTV.
Hearst has been one of strongest groups to carry the network. And it would be a shame if it gets moved off of full power signal for the LP. I'm hoping they add the other networks on the LP and keep MeTV on Channel 8.

WLFM-6 (former Franken-FM at 87.7) in Cleveland has been purchased by Gray. It will join up with WOIO-19 and WUAB-43.
Hoping they'll turn this into an in-city translator viewers can get, without relying on that problematic VHF signal.

Fox 29 does this "Sports in a Minute", which is nothing more than a taped sports segment during Good Day.

It's official. Maria Taylor joins NBC Sports.
From the release:
QuoteHighlighted by host roles for the Olympics and the NFL – including as a host and contributor for Football Night in America and Super Bowls – Taylor will work across premier NBC Sports properties. In Tokyo, her very first assignment as part of the NBC Sports team, she will join Mike Tirico as host for Prime Plus, and will also serve as a correspondent.

New PRM.
Gray wants Presque Isle, ME's WAGM off of VHF 8 and move to UHF 28.
This is very interesting because, their close sister station to the south of them (WABI) is on the VHF dial (RF 13). Their former owners moved them off of UHF (RF 19) a decade ago. Could this be reversed in the future?

Also, this the probably the first time I've seen a break up of a channel sharing arrangement.
Telemundo O&O in Providence WRIW, has ended its CSA with Scripps' Ion O&O WPXQ.
The station is now off the air, as they try to find a new channel to share with.

Are they going to take MeTV from WPLJ?
Not too sure when WJLP's carriage with MeTV runs out, but Weigel hasn't made any announcements on any affiliate switches.

WTVD has found Tisha Powell's replacement.
Former WTXF Philly anchor/reporter Lauren Johnson will become the new anchor for its evening newscasts.
She will start at the end of the month.

New M&A. Looks like White Knight could be the next target........
Nexstar is exercising its option to acquire KSHV Shereveport, LA & KTPN-LD in Tyler, TX.
Because the 2017 dereg rules were reinstated last month, Nexstar (which owns NBC outlet KTAL) can acquire KSHV without getting a failed waiver, because that station is not in the top-4. And of course, the eight voice test is eliminated.
Could WVLA & KFXK be going to Mission soon?.......
EDIT 7/21: More stations going into Nexstar proper....
Nexstar has exercised its option to get Mission Broadcasting LPs KCPN-LD Amarillo & KJBO-LD Wichita Falls.

That's the third Vegas station that wants to get off VHF.
One has advanced to NPRM (KTNV), while the other (which filed their petition during that Black Friday dump) is still waiting for an NPRM (KHSV).

Anyway. A small M&A. Weigel has scored a station in the Big Apple.
Weigel is acquiring NRJ's sole outlet WZME Bridgeport, CT for $35M.

Good news in Phoenix & Portland. And just in time for the Olympics.
KPNX has lit up UHF 18. And KGW has lit up UHF 26.
They're keeping the VHF signals on for a brief period to remind viewers to rescan their TVs.

Big Bump.
The FCC wants to fine Gray $518,293 because of this move.
From B&C:
QuoteThe commission said that the proposed fine stemmed from its acquisition of the CBS affiliation of KTVA-TV--which went dark--when it already owned NBC affiliate KTUU-TV, both in Anchorage, Alaska. At the time the stations were ranked number one and two in the market. Gray put the CBS programming on its KYES-TV Anchorage, but then moved it to a co-owned low power station and simulcast it on a digital subchannel of KTUU-TV.
__________________
"By executing and consummating an agreement to apparently purchase the CBS affiliation from KTVA(TV) for KYES-TV, Gray caused a change in network affiliation that resulted in Gray’s owning and operating the top two of the top-four stations in the Anchorage DMA, as of July 31, 2020, in violation of Commission rules," the FCC said. "Gray’s acquisition of the affiliation of another Top 4 station in the market was “conscious and deliberate,” and thus willful, as evidenced by the fact that it consummated an agreement to do so without prior Commission approval."

New M&A.
Nexstar want to exercise its option to acquire outright Vaughan's WBDT.
It already owns NBC outlet WDTN.
