The Ever-Evolving Gray Graphics Situation...Thread

I do have a gripe. At the end of the open, I don't like how that music gets abruptly cut off like that. That's really tacky. Video Courtesy of "DADOSUPERMARIO 2" from YT -
That second one HAS to be FAKE. Don't tell me they use that second one on the air........

WPIX is expanding its morning broadcasts again. They're adding a 9am hour beginning January 6th. They're also adding Ben Aaron (from Pickler & Ben) & Marysol Castro as feature reporters. This will be the third time for Marysol on this show, as she was the traffic anchor in the early 2000s. Then in the Fall of 2013, she was the early morning anchor, until the station cut that 4am hour that following summer.

It's certainly a different looking ticker. Not the black one most stations are carrying. -

Love the use of purple on the L3s when mentioning LSU. Overture is still in use. -

WALB implemented those graphics last month. -
Sources told Indy Star that "as many as 27-30 employees were let go" at WXIN/WTTV.

In Toledo, ion was bumped to 13.5. And since Ion is carried on a bunch of Gray outlets, It'll likely be moved down to another created subchannel.

January 1st will be the launch date. Some CBS O&Os will also be carrying the diginet. Damn. With 16 original shows, ratings better be through the roof.

New M&A. I should call this a small M&A because it doesn't involve a major TV station. But the price tag is "somewhat" big. RNN National (owners of WRNN-TV) is acquiring eight NRJ TV stations for $81.2M. The stations they're acquire are as follows: KSCI Long Beach - (NRJ will continue to own sister station KNLA-CD) KCNS San Francisco - (NRJ will continue to own sister station KTNC-TV) KIKU Honolulu WMFP Foxborough - (will duopoly with WWDP) WTVE Willow Grove, PA - (will duopoly with WMCN) WPHY-CD Trenton KUBE Baytown, TX KFWD Dallas I don't know what RNN is going to do with these stations other than keeping the "Revenue Frontiers" alive. Their parent station (WRNN) run infomercials most of the day. And if NRJ Is cashing out, they might as well give up KTNC & KNLA to RNN as well.

New York sister station did this same practice, I believe last year. They got rid of its branded "10/55 News at 9" for a CBSN NY-produced news at that timeslot.

They've now closed down the Nexstar site and the yourphx url redirected to the new CW 61 site. The old site was still up yesterday.

I would suspect many would think moving the Ellen to 3pm would be a better option. But I guess they probably want to clear Daily Blast Live since it probably don't have an earlier feed.- 3684 replies

Looks like WFMY is the latest CBS station to finally placing CBS This Morning in-pattern like the other stations. Looking at the guide, next Monday (12/2), as they're going to debut a new local 4pm show entitled Four2Five, WFMY will be dropping its 7am portion of the Good Morning Show to air CBS This Morning in-pattern from 7-9am. Ellen moves from 4pm to 9am.- 3684 replies

Looking at the guide, the half-hour 7pm is being kept. With Daily Blast Live airing at 7:30pm.

Newly-acquired WVIR replaced its WorldNow style site for a Raycom template site (the same one KEYC/WWNY switched to earler this year).

And the FCC has greenlighted the Marquee deal today.

No one's upsetting anyone. They were allowed to use these graphics, the same way they allowed WOIO to use their new gfx. I'm sure if the higher-ups would've have a gripe, we probably wouldn't see these gfx on the air. -

I don't think its in-house. This WAVE's new gfx pack (the L3s specifically) looks like the one some of the Meredith stations use (i.e. WFSB). -

Follow-up. December 1st will be the launch date for NBC/CW programming of KMNF. So follow-up regarding WWPI. They have filed an app to move closer to Presque Isle proper. From this contour map, it won't be transmitting from WAGM's tower facility, but It looks like it'll be will be transmitting from the WAGM's studio facility.

WWL meteorologist Chris Franklin has been promoted to Chief Meteorologist for the station. He replaces Carl Arredondo, who left the station back in February, after nearly 28 years at Channel 4.
