I thought this deal would never close. The Charlottesville deals (first announced back on March 4) was consummated Tuesday (10/1). Gray now owns WVIR, while Lockwood owns WCAV/WVAW. The deals were approved on April 15 (almost six months ago).

On the guide it says Jeopardy (after Nightline).

So it appears Gray is going to snag MeTV in Toledo afterall. Starting today (10/1), MeTV will be carried on WTVG 13.4. WTOL is replacing MeTV for Tegna-owned Justice Network on 11.2. Now I thought why they didn't place MeTV on 13.3? On the article they mentioned "additional programming to be named later on 13.3". I don't see any other programming that deserve better placement other than MeTV. Now I wished they would've snag the affiliation when that Raycom deal closed in January. Here's their lineup: 13.1 ABC 13.2 The CW 13.3 TBA 13.4 MeTV 13.5 Ion 13.6 WeatherNation

Small follow-up regarding the merger between Gatehouse Media & Gannett. The DOJ has cleared the deal. It still needs the greenlight from the European Commission since Gannett also owns several papers in the UK. It also needs approval from the shareholders of both companies. But it's pretty much a done deal, as it expects to close by the end of the year.

Tributes galore last night. Here's that full vid. Video courtesy of Scott Allen Brown from YT.

I guess they're taking advantage of the new kidvid rules. From Variety, GMA Saturday is expanding to two hours for a good chunk of its affiliates beginning next week. Looking at the guides, the two hours won't be together. For example: WABC will air the first hour at 8am, then the second hour at 10am/ET. WLS will air the first hour at 7am, then the second hour at 10am/CT.

Yeah. The Swan is about to sing one more time after 72 seasons tonight........ The final WGN Sports game will be tomorrow night (Sox vs Tigers).

Remember that was during the Sinclair-Tribune deal, when Fox attempted to buy those handful of Tribune stations. During the Nexstar deal, WSFL was Spun-off to Scripps. Fox backed out of buying any spin-off, leaving the door open for Scripps & Tegna. Even them both outbidded Apollo.

For anyone who thought that Ansin was going to lose Fox in Miami (including me), think again. The network just renewed it. Super Bowl LIV at the Hard Rock will air on 7.
-
Not sure when this happened. Earlier this month, the guide stated that the 11pm repeat at 1:07am after Nightline. But it now shows Jeopardy, before a Tamron Hall repeat.

The Fox O&Os and its cable networks are blacked out on Dish Network.

Could've gave KRIV Extra, but they would've buried it to after 11pm. But it was only a matter of time before 2 brought back the 4:30 news.

Looks like October 15th at 8am, KNCT will move to KWTX tower on RF 17. Gray is telling viewers to rescan to get KNCT on that date. Should that (as in moving to 10's tower) be the case, Gray should drop MeTV on 10.3, since it'll already be carried on 46.2.

It'll be later than 11pm because of SNF (hope the game goes to overtime so folks can sleep and not have to watch this trainwreck).

Channel 9 aired its final Cubs home game from Wrigley earlier today. There are two more broadcasts left, with the final one from St. Louis is this Friday (9/27).

Looks like a deal has been reached "in principle" between AT&T & Disney.

Uncle Perry also said that if someone was willing to give him an offer he wouldn't refuse, he would sell WGN Radio and WGN America in a hot second, since it's a non-core asset for him. That's why he kept Compton in to run those assets. So if it does get sold, Sook wouldn't have to deal with him after that. I strongly don't think he'll keep WGNA & 720 in long haul. I also don't think he'll keep ownership of the diginets (Antenna TV & This TV) long-term either. He has long said that he's not interested in anything national. He's only for local. And despite some stations dropping the channel (or are in the process of doing so), I wish Weigel would repurchase This TV. In regards to airing a fraction of local games over-the-air, I wouldn't say Sook can't ink a deal. And I know it'll have a drawback for some folks who don't have cable and rely on watching the games OTA. But I don't think that would be enough to bring back some games to regular TV. And I believe we have pretty strong cable rate in this market. You know, strange things have happen. But I'm with most of you. After next week, I don't think we'll see another local game OTA for the forseeable future.

Follow up from above, as the season (and the station's time with the Cubs) is about to end.
-
Looks like WFLA is also dropping MeTV as well. It's going to Hearst's WMOR. No word from Channel 8 on what will occupy that 8.2 allotment. I'm surprised Nexstar didn't drop MeTV in Vegas (KLAS).........

Nexstar is also dropping MeTV on Nashville's WKRN 2.2. They're replacing it for Bounce TV. With MeTV moving to HC2-owned WJFB 44.1. WCMH is replacing MeTV for CourtTV.

You got to be bleeping me. Seriously. What the hell is this?!! Forget the lottery ball, this is worse. It looks like they took the "3" from a sign out of a street corner. This is not a TV logo, it's an outdoor sign. I swear you can't get any worse than this. Pitiful. Just plain and extremely pitiful.
