As many of you all know, WBZ 4 is celebrating its 70th Anniversary. And in honor of the CBS station's big birthday, the station is bringing back the original anchors. Jack Williams, Liz Walker, Bob Lobel (Sports), Bruce Schwoegler (Weather) and Joyce Kulhawik (Entertainment) will return to the anchor desk This Thursday at 11pm. Someone please record or set their DVRs for this reunion newscast.

Looks like they also redesigned the set for the occasion and dusted off the old logos.

  2. Pro tip: unlike a lot of other paid subscription sites, I discovered that if you open the page, and click to stop loading it in full as soon as the article is visible, you miss out on some links and the comments, but you get the content unblocked.

Apparently, having the Privacy Badger extension installed also works. Just sayin'.

  3. On a separate but related note I can see Lester being a witness for Mueller and if that's the case he might have to recuse himself from some or perhaps even all of NBC's special coverage regarding the Mueller investigation at some point.

Have I missed something? How is Lester Holt connected to Mueller's investigation?

  4. If it's like all the other ABC shows, very poorly. All ABC shows perform poorly in STL. KDNL is one of the worst performing affiliates in the country.

But the reason ABC doesn't do anything about it is because Sinclair bundles KDNL's affiliation agreement with ABC with it's better performing affiliates like WSYX, KATU, and KOMO (the affiliation agreement was made prior to them buying the Allbritton stations).

ABC should have made fixing KDNL's performance woes a requirement, or at least forced Sinclair to negotiate a separate agreement for it.
