  1. Im sure NBC didn't match his request either. No one is paying that kind of money anymore. This seems like a vanity project, just to stick it to his former station.
  2. There is no station in town that can afford or would pay anything near his salary. Stations are slashing expensive anchors, not adding them. And no way he goes to some last place station for 180-200K.
  3. Allen was hired as the main anchor. He is the replacement.
  4. Speaking of Jeff Skversky.. has he popped up anywhere? Boy did he bomb in Detroit.
  5. Yes. He was hired as the main anchor to replace Maurice. And yes.. this is what happens when people are hired young and out of town because they check a box. Just sayin’.
  6. This set is ugly! The previous one was gorgeous. In style, colors, lighting.
  7. 300K??? A new set runs about $1 million. that said, their set was really small and dated, and they needed a fresh look.
  8. They are hiring (3) of those positions per station. Its like adding 3 additional EP’s to oversee each daypart. They are replacing the longtime vets with more managers. “There will be 3 MCC positions available, working different shifts inside the newsroom. One of the shifts will involve early-morning hours to lead our morning news efforts. One will work later in the evening to lead our late news efforts, with the final a day shift leading evening products.”
  9. I LOVE it. Love the music cut, the standups, much harder and “old school” than the weird Tegna elevator music.
  10. Its a few things. The ABC's have always been better run operations. WCBS has been a shuffle of management in addition to talent. And yes, pay. WCBS starts GA reporters at around 150-170K. WABC 180K-200K.
  11. Cool set. But the talent changes are god awful. These new anchors are unattractive dweebs!
  12. Has Adrienne Bankert left NN? Or is she in the process? She hasnt posted on social since December. Not a good look. Usually means they are in separation talks, which is to be expected since she lost her show.
  13. He was pretty bad as a news anchor. Not to mention, he just looked and sounded completely out of place, disengaged and unfriendly. As for the operation as a whole, what a failure so far. There a few bright spots, but they havent made a mark at all. No one in the market is paying attention to them.
  14. So anyone know how the rebrand is doing? Any ratings bump? Viewer feedback?
  15. Eh. Lets see the ratings in a year. I dont doubt the new investment and money being spent is nice. But how many times has a station (including this one) gotten excited and said “its a new day!” “This time its gonna work”! Stations have time and time again rebranded, promising to focus on news that “matters” etc and it flops.
