  1. Rob had a pretty good run at WMAQ and for 10 years prior to that with Dateline. Guessing Patrick gets the 4P back with Stefan picking up the 5P and 6P newscasts.
  2. It's as if someone hired a p.i to follow them rather than a random paparazzi stumbling onto the two at a bar or something.
  3. They should have kept Patrick with Michelle rather than (unofficially) promoting JC. Not sure what the thought process is there (...if there is one). Solid choice.
  4. Evrod made his debut last week. He will be anchoring weekend mornings (with Kate) and reporting during the week. That said, not sure who anchors with Michelle (JC maybe?) weekday mornings.
  5. WGN will likely continue nipping at WLS's heels, but it's highly unlikely any station will be able to overtake them overall.
  6. Had the ratings improved, they ‘likely’ would’ve kept him there in prime time. Also, Tapper wasn’t too keen on working the night shift anyway.
  7. It would cost millions to re-brand the network, so a name change isn’t going to happen anytime soon. Plus, one would hope they learned a lesson when they renamed WGN America before getting rid of the non-news programming.
  8. Hopefully, once they hire their programming chief, they can nail down what type of network they want the CW to be. I fear this may turn into a NewsNation situation were programming is all over the place and shows are incompatible with each other. I get wanting to save money and whatnot, but that can't be done overnight. They need slow down a bit and plan things out.
  9. Yeah... it's way too casual of a look for a news anchor (regardless of the time of day). Not sure if this is an attempt to appeal to a younger demo, but this isn't the way to do it.
  10. Wolf and NBC have a partnership that has lasted more than 3 decades and I'm certain the two can work something out that benefits them both. The Chicago shows and SVU are in the last (of a 3 yr) renewal deal so discussions/renew talks about those shows were going to happen anyway. What I could see happening is dramas having shorter seasons (which wouldn't be a bad thing).
  11. Even without Alan, WLS will remain in great position overall in comparison to say WMAQ and WBBM with their current anchor roster. I could see small changes happening with ‘planning for the future’ being pushed down the line (in another 5-10 years maybe).
  12. Yeah.. I just did some more digging. It’s the weather center/office. This was completed in July.
  13. Looks like the meteorologists got a new space to work/present in July. This space replaces the small and cramped area they called home behind the alcove in the main studio.
  14. No reason to work into your 60s/70s if you don't have to. She has accomplished a lot in her career so, in her eyes, there's nothing else left to achieve.
  15. I agree the background is a lot to take in. I do 'hope' that they offer viewers something different as time goes on because a rehash of news/topics that have already been covered hours before is a waste. 'Dateline in the Daytime' feels like a placeholder (or should be). It will be interesting to see what they come up with for that hour.
  16. Jim Williams co-anchors at 4P.
  17. ‘Sports on tubi’ offers 10 (or so) live Sports Channels (Fox Sports, MLB network, etc…). Now I don’t believe they air a direct simulcast of FS1, the ‘possibility’ does exist.
  18. Quick update…. Construction of the new Jumbotron has begun (all the video panels have been removed) with a ton of wiring work being done currently. No work has started on the street side studio as of yet.
  19. The Newsroom ‘Live Desk’. Not too bad….
  20. My take is that they build a simple set (with an large weather center for better presentations and whatnot). They would be foolish to only build just a weather center given the space. I’m willing to bet they use it for not only CBSN and other newscasts (mornings??), but CBS Weekend News (Saturday) too. I mean..if you’re making the investment, might as well get as much out of it as you can.
  21. I agree it’s not terrible. I’m just a little surprised that this is the end result of nearly 2 months of work. Seems like a waste of time/resources. It’s possible (3-anchor format). I don’t watch them often enough to confirm. Could be part of (morning) anchor/format changes across the FOX O&Os. WFLD went to 3-anchors (7-10A) yesterday.
  22. The new set was unveiled this morning.
  23. I had a feeling they would try a three-anchor lineup and I agree Anita P. is more comfortable at reporting than anchoring. Glad they decided to split GDC in half rather than keep the three different blocks (4-6A, 6-9A & 9-10A). This ‘should’ help things flow better overall.
  24. Anita B. and Sylvia co-anchored the 9A with her subbing for Sylvia at Noon (not sure if she did all 5 days (at Noon) however). My guess is that they wanted to give Anita B. some exposure outside of GDC (which is why she anchored the Noon). Don't think they settled on what her role will be just yet (aside from co-anchoring the 9A hr.). From what I saw, she is pretty good. Sometime in February. Natalie shifted to a Sun-Thur. schedule with Dane (unofficially) taking on the additional role of Weekend Anchor (solo on Saturdays and with Natalie on Sundays).
  25. Wait…isn’t what you’re referring to this . If so, this isn’t new.
