  1. Good Morning America is planning to depart its iconic Times Square Studio this summer https://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/good-morning-america-times-square-move/
  2. 'Cos its cheap and network tv is on borrowed time. It will exist in some fashion, but the tv landscape is so big now, their influence has waned. All the comedies and dramas are cookie cutter and samey. So they will probably just produce sports and news soon. Lol.
  3. CBS Morning is leaving its Time Square studio and moving to the newly updated CBS Evening News set. https://cordcuttersnews.com/cbs-mornings-abandons-times-square-studio-for-cost-cutting-move-back-to-west-57th/
  4. That almost reminded me of the old CityPulse news program on Citytv Toronto
  5. The package is ok-ish. I feels juddery to me. I like it better than the FOX O&O graphics. Over all... just as boring.
  6. I guess Im in the minority. I hate everything about ABC News. Its like they are broadcasting from a darkened cave. I hate the lighting, when there is some its harsh and the talent is shadowy and the graphics are dark so it feels sinister. The sound is always echo-ey and the use of the metal on the set, such as around the screens and desk, always has hotspots. Everything is badly designed. I feel since they were moving to a new space they could have experimented. They didnt even get new graphics but recreated their old ones. But since audiences for network news is drying up...this exemplifies they are truly scare of losing more of their audience. I was hoping we would see something different. But to to rebuild the same thing. Yawn. I was suprised ABC News Live got new graphics. I like the channel, but sometimes I find the streaming channels dont always carry live events. NBC News Now is a big culprit. ABC is OK. CBS News is a bit hit or miss. I have to say Im not impressed with any of the big 3 network news sets. NBC gave up and retreated to the Today set and CBS is just screens and ABC went deeper into their news cave.
  7. Derek Van Dam tweeted about the VR EXTREME weather center. Did they need to add EXTEME to the title. http://https://x.com/VanDamCNN/status/1897273836355321959
  8. Another YAWN talking head political show. The interview she gave TVNEWSER she tried to explain what makes her talking head panel show different from the 50 other talking head panel show. "You get the full picture, both sides, blah blah blah." PASS.
  9. I hate this. This and the virtual extensions of the Atlanta set just give cheap vibes. This is not the CNN of yester-year. The money and the personnel are gone and they are trying to do what they used to do. They are trying to make Atlanta "HQ" feel "big" like CNN Center used to. And it just doesnt. Its done. Why not do realistic VR instead of this ridiculous OTT VR? It just looks stupid. Sadly FNC is the popular "Kool-Aid" channel. They have given viewers the ammo to fuel their views and that outrage brings in viewers. Not much you can do to compete with that. I cant see CNN ever coming back to popularity. They will be forever chasing viewers. FNC is a outrage commentary channel. CNN feels sadly like a directionless lost cause.
  10. Amara Walker was totally underutilized. She was probably one of the best when it came to International News. And unshakeable during breaking news. She should have been the lead anchor at that network. She was never going to get used to her full potential at CNN Domestic. This is sad day.
  11. Wow that is a nothing set. Yawn. And the lighting is Yeesh. But i guess for them....congrats on the new building.
  12. Makes the most sense if he wants to continue. CBS probably couldnt or wouldnt match his salary request.
  13. Interestingly Americans viewers tune-in in droves for 60 Minutes and CBS Sunday Morning, but the rest of the news division output is meant to be different? I dont agree. The alignment of the all the CBS news programmes to a similar cerebral, more thoughtful, calmer tone suits me. Miss the old days of Brokaw, Jennings and Rather. I dont hate NBC News as a news division but Nightly News has become headache inducing with the story presentation and tone. ITs disappointing frankly. The bulletpoint style of reading a story is wildly annoying frankly
  14. I dont think ive seen all the walls and floor as screens. I didnt realize there was virtually no hard elements. Its very well done graphics from the distance we see it. Because it looked real to me.
  15. Well I didnt realize how much of the set was actually screens. It turns out the only part that is real, is the wooden header and the desk. Everything else we see is just graphics on the screens. Even the floor behind the anchor desk is a big screen. Even the coloured lighting on the floor is just graphics. The entire back of the set is all screens and the "Set" can be changed to look like anything instantly. Its the cheapest and easiest way to change the set to look like anything. They dont even have to change the floor. Its literally all screens. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/gabriel-almanzar-aa177141_thrilled-to-reveal-the-new-cbs-evening-news-activity-7290079729657757697-o3yd
