  1. a sea of brown wood and 5 million patterns. spot on for ABC. Expectations fulfilled.
  2. I 100% agree. Im not a fan of ABC News visual design. (sets/graphics). But for them to rebuild the dark cave for world news tonight instead of creating something fresh new and modern is ridiculous. I cant understand that logic. It also shows how scare the design teams are that if they make even the slightest change that audiences will run. Probably why European news sets/music/graphics are so modern. Particularly in Scandinavian countries. So Im not thinking ABC will do anything innovative or modern or different with the new GMA studio. It will be laden with wood and shiny metal and tons of various busy patterns and a shiny floor or a wooden type floor.
  3. And its ugly dont forget this WXcenter is plain ugly. Zero design. Beige/woodgrain walls and some screens. Yawn. Defoca step down.
  4. Geeez. Ive seen powerpoints more interesting than that. Goodness.
  5. Ugh definetely not a improvement. The faux window element broke up the monster screen that already exisits. So they removed the faux window to add another big screen. Yawn.
  6. I get it but it seems there no one thinks that sounds terrible they havent come up with a solution. Its crap.
  7. Whats with that awful abrupt end to the opening theme when the anchor are doing their introduction? Horrible. Ive noticed more and more newscasts have this. I imagine its a result of everything being automated. Terrible. Why is that allowed.
  8. Tom seems like a nice guy. But his delivery for me lacks the gravitas of Brokaw, Williams and Holt that preceded him. He has a delivery similar to that of David Muir. Im not a fan of the breathless clipped style. That NBC and ABC now uses for the past decade. The reporters dont even use complete sentences anymore. After watching Tom Llamas for a few minutes. I had to switch to CBS. I was Night News viewer for decades. But Im kinda done now. Ive always had respect for NBC News as an entity. BUt i cant take it the tik tok style delivery.
  9. Ive seen sets from smaller markets than Spokane. Its all about design. And this trend of adding local landmarks needs to end. Its tacky and the "local" should be in the form of content not set. Just do a good set. I dont fall into the "its a small market" mindset. Charlottesville is market 177. So thats not an excuse for bad design and bad lighting and bad graphics. Charlottesville Market 177
  10. Oh wow. The design of this set took my breath away. Im sure it might have a local meaning but that set it awful. I dont get this trend over past decade of shoehorning in "local" materials or designs no matter how minuscule it might be. That curved bridge thing with a monitor shoved in front of it makes it looks like a local high school talent show production in the school gymnasium/auditorium. I expect to see some teenagers come out and tap dance or try singing in front of it.... Let alone presenting a serious newscast. The logo, brand and graphics are just plain bad. Yeesh. The NonStop local with the red swish looks like a early 2000s dot.com tech start up. It so outdated. And the alt logo with the KHQ and Peacock on top of it looks hideous and just slapdash. Q6 LOCAL NEWS sounded better.
  11. Good Morning America is planning to depart its iconic Times Square Studio this summer https://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/good-morning-america-times-square-move/
  12. 'Cos its cheap and network tv is on borrowed time. It will exist in some fashion, but the tv landscape is so big now, their influence has waned. All the comedies and dramas are cookie cutter and samey. So they will probably just produce sports and news soon. Lol.
  13. CBS Morning is leaving its Time Square studio and moving to the newly updated CBS Evening News set. https://cordcuttersnews.com/cbs-mornings-abandons-times-square-studio-for-cost-cutting-move-back-to-west-57th/
  14. That almost reminded me of the old CityPulse news program on Citytv Toronto
  15. The package is ok-ish. I feels juddery to me. I like it better than the FOX O&O graphics. Over all... just as boring.
