If this is true, it's a terrible decision. Baruch Shemtov is difficult to watch, to say the least. In every report, he seems to be shouting. Anna Gilligan was great, although she is too good to be stuck doing a few short entertainment reports each morning.
Yeah he's pretty awful.

It's a shame because I think Shiba got a bad rap. She's really not that bad.
-
Yeah she already started last weekend (Janurary 9th). What I thought was strange was that she took a vacation this past weekend and was off. Typically when you first start at a job you get limited vacation time so I thought it was strange that she would already get a whole weekend off after only being on the job for really 1 week (1 weekend plus the reporting stories she did during select days of the workweek).
She probably had this vacation pre-planned and told PIX during the interview..

Both great anchors. Just don't see this newscasts succeeding.

I think Lori would do great things for WABC in the afternoon/evenings and I don't see many reasons (minus personal reasons) why Lori would want to turn this down, she's certainly earned it after all these years.
yeah, I think so too.
Obviously not a given any of this happens. Purely speculation at this point, but if Josh does go to FS1, they'd have to give him a NY studio and some type of role to warrant being alone in NY...plus his roots are in SoCal so him "going home" makes sense...and I'd think Liz would go with (and find a job in a second.)

I think they'd *have* to offer the 4&6 to Lori first, but if she turned it down they would surely promote Shirleen. Shirleen will be first in line for any promotion over Michelle (sadly). Michelle would be amazing on weekdays. But the WABC ND is all about minority hires.

If she does, I imagine WABC will fill the anchor holes with either Diana, Shirleen, or Lori.
Anchor holes is uh...interesting lol.
I'd imagine if Lori wanted it, she could have the 4&6. If not, they'd prob leave Shirleen on the noon and have her pick up the 6. With maybe Michele or an outsider getting the 4.
Diana is not picking up any additional work..if anything I'd expect her to scale back permanently. Woman is an absolute Saint to her family.

Josh Elliot is leaving NBC. Rumor has it he might be joining Fox Sports 1 which is out in LA, where he's from. If he does, would his wife (Liz Cho) relocate out there too? Something to ponder

Looks like new graphics could debut tonight, or at the very least we now have a new show logo. Debuted on WNT Social media accounts today.

Craig was on last night. The weekend gig is his. He probably doesn't fill in that much on weekdays because of his FT gig on WCBS880.Just thought I'd note Craig Allen hasn't been on PIX that often lately. Maybe it's to give Chris Knowles and Joe Cioffi more air time? I always liked Craig so I hope he stays on.
Also according to this page they're still hiring another meteorologist, but that listing has been up since January 12th.

It appears that from Rob's Instagram page (in which he seems to continue to relish being a frat boy and not a professional news anchor), it appears he is on vacation in Italy.Rob Schmitt was MIA all weekend, with Lynda Baquero (plus Sibila Vargas for the 11:00 Sunday) filling in, and not saying "Rob is out" or "on vacation".
Has he been let go now that WNBC has hired another woman to work the weekend anchor desk?
The female anchor was hired to fill the vacancy created by Stacy Bell's departure.

Meteorologist Samantha Augeri from News12 Long Island is heading to WNYW as a weather producer and fill-in meteorologist. She was the weekend morning meteorologist as well as the weather producer and primary weekday fill-in at N12LI. Good pickup.

WNBC seems to have a niche for what they want in their female anchors.http://www.charlotteobserver.com/entertainment/tv/media-scene-blog/article25596952.html
Natalie Pasquarella Joins WNBC this summer from Chaorlotte as new weekend evening anchor.
Natalie/Shiba/Sibilla all kind of look the same..

Could Sarah Wallace join WNBC as a weekend anchor/reporter? I know it's doubtful tho one can hope.
Sarah Wallace is not going to be an anchor.
-
Whew. Settle down. This is TV news, not life or death.Who said Lori's moving to evenings?
Nobody. That's what I thought.
-
That's a shame. Stacey is a really solid anchor.

WABC should tread carefully. Michelle is a talent and while I'm sure she is happy and grateful right now you never know. She should be getting the morning show next if/when Lori leaves or is bumped to nights. If not...I've always thought her to be the perfect fit to replace Rosanna on GDNY when she retires way down the line.
-
Probably report for the morning show and anchor the noon? Or will Michelle finally get put on weekdays? It's possible though that the station views her as crucial to their weekend AM morning show and won't pull her off that.

It's nothing new. She's been hosting Caught on Camera for years. It's all pre-recorded.Just read this about Contessa Brewer from TV Spy, it appears like she's still with WNBC based on this article, just adding MSNBC to her workload on weekend evenings.

Diana Williams will be on a reduced schedule the next few weeks as her husband battles a rare blood disease. Best wishes to him in a successful recovery.
-
He seems like a nice guy, but Ben Simmoneau is a brutal watch. No personality, not suited for morning show small talk, particularly when he fills in on GDNY.
I agree. I could see him getting bumped to the 6pm "more serious" newcast if/when Ernie retires. They need a lighter personality for GDWU.

Joel Waldman is now reporting for FNC according to his Twitter
Based out of Washington. Second WNYW reporter this year plucked by FNC (John Huddy to Jerusalem.)

Dr Oz must have been coming in 3rd behind Ellen and Judge Judy at that hour. While 3pm would have made sense, I guess they see 2pm as winnable against Meredith Viera and The Talk.

They never push back the Noon newscast. They go until 12:30 then Millionaire. So, maybe they did since they know it will change on Monday but they do not have a history of doing that.
The newscast didn't start till about 12:18 and ended at 12:45. This was not a soft launch just pushed back to do the Abc News Special Report.
