  1. Why would Scott go back to WNBC? PIX needs him much more desperately than WNBC does. Besides, WNBC has John Chandler and Harry Cicma to work with. PIX has no one besides Scott, unless Andy Adler moves to nights which I don't see happening.

Because doing sports on WNBC is much higher profile than doing sports on WPIX......

Chandler and Cicma are okay but I guarantee if the opportunity arose, WNBC would bring back Scott.

  2. The next move for Scott will be to return to WNBC as lead sports anchor when Bruce Beck eventually goes to

NBC Sports full time (and it will be a shame to see Bruce eventually go but he's a supreme talent.)

  3. WHOA! Huge changes at WPIX, reported by Jerry Barmash's "Tuned In:"

    -Julie Grauert out

    -Lionel out

-Dr. Steve "chose not to renew his contract"

Glad Lionel is gone. Those are resources better used elsewhere.

In addition the evening news exec producer (an Effron ally) is out.

  4. Ok, there are a lot of red flags going off right now. Rob is co anchoring with Liz at 6pm right now and Laura is doing sports. This never happens. Bill or Liz usually solo when the other is out. Very, VERY odd. Could this be in prep for Bill retiring, could this be because NBC 4 doesn't solo at 6 anymore? Either way, very odd.

    Bill is not retiring.

  5. I think it's kind of weird that while Mike Woods is on vacation this week Nick Gregory is doing Good Day NY and Audrey Puente is doing nights..

That is unusual. Usually Audrey would fill in on GDNY. She's better suited for that show anyway. Maybe Nick requested it...
  6. According to WLNY's facebook page, Carolina Bermudez will be back on 'The Couch' tomorrow (2/7). Interesting to see what anchors they'll chose to host. I'm personally not a big fan of Jill, she's lost a lot of her beauty since her plastic surgery and is not a good news anchor. I think she's good talent for traffic, though. Personally, I think they were wrong to get rid of Jodi. Yet again, it may of been her choice to leave (if anyone can clarify that, it would be appreciated!)

Carolina was back from surgery today.

Honestly, what WCBS should do is this:

Have Chris Wragge, Mary Calvi, and Carolina co-host The Couch.

Have Dana Tyler take over the noon newscast (either in addition to the 6pm or have Dick and Alice pick up the 6pm in addition to the 9pm.)

I agree, Jill is not a fit.

  7. Andy Adler on again tonight, but this time she's reporting in studio about social media response to the snow. I won't be annoying and post every time she's on...but I can assume that this is permanent.

Leading anchor candidate for the new 11am newscast.
  8. Today was Lisa Kerney's last day on WCBS, she is going to Sports Center. Explains why she left The Couch.

Good move for her. Much higher profile. That being said, WCBS in the mornings continues to be amateur hour. Show needs a major revamp.
  9. Guess who isn't covering the State of The Union....

How can anyone trust WPIX for the news when, they will be on air for 6 hours consecutively for a less important story and not cover an important one. I don't usually condemn copying but geez, if its this bad, why don't they just copy the amount of coverage the other stations do. :bang:

How many viewers would they have really captured? People aren't tuning into PIX11 to watch the SOTU. That's a fact.

WLNY aired their 9pm newscast instead of the SOTU.

  10.

WCBS changed their twitter handles. I guess they got the message that "LastnameWCBSWLNY" was too long. It's now "LastNametv". Much shorter. However, if they wanted to change their handles, they should of still identified the station it it. I would of done something like "Gainer2" or "Gainer21055". I know they want to identify both stations, but it's better than "WCBSWLNY".

Another *facepalm* to the social media folks at WCBS. There is little point in making their talent put "TV" after their name. "TV" exists outside the realm of WCBS.
  11.

I wonder if at least some of it might be medical. She was hit by a car while reporting in the field for WABC around 10 years ago. She has also posted on social media during several of her absences about being sick with one thing or another. So, who knows. Just speculating.

I had wondered if it had anything to do with her accident but I didn't think it did. Maybe she just has a good agent lol.
  12. I have noticed that recently, when Sade is off, rather than having Bill or David fill in for her at 5pm, they have Joe Torres filling in much more than in the past. A few months ago, it was David, Bill or Lori filling in. Now it is more often Joe (or Lori). I wonder if this has anything to do with them trying to build another "Bill" for whenever Bill retires. Anyway, very interesting.

She did this morning as well. Bill is on vacation. In fact, the morning newscast was all women this morning, Lori, Michele, Heather and Amy and I have to say, when they do this, they do a really good job!

Either that, or Joe got a few more weeknight appearances written into a recent contract.

Speaking of contract, does Sade have the most vacation time of any WABC anchor? She's off all the time.

  13. Yeah Sharon and Ernie were on at 5pm and make a good team. They also had Sharon and Kerry subbing this week at 5pm.

Audrey Puente is also doing good subbing for Nick.

Yes Audrey is doing great as usual.
