I live in South Carolina, but I also find 6ABC Action News from WPVI quite interesting (I used to be able to see it on the NewsOn app, until Disney took WPVI and all their stations off from that); that said, I hope Disney doesn't pull a Nexstar and restrict the ABC O&Os to residents of those areas.

1989 newsbrief from WCBD Channel 2 (then the ABC station of Charleston, SC; now NBC; WCIV is ABC there now), when that station was of the TV-2 Action News title; this also includes a promo for Action Line consumer coverage, and a WCBD ID, and the last few seconds are of the 20/20 opening as it was in 1989 (which apparently had mirrors coming together in a way to reveal the 20/20 title; is that correct?).

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion
bmasters1 replied to ABC 7 Denver's topic in Corporate Chat
Thanks very much for the clarification on that! I heard it on Twitter as a new post, and I assumed it was in the works now; I'm glad to hear that this was from several months ago.- 3706 replies

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion
bmasters1 replied to ABC 7 Denver's topic in Corporate Chat
How true, how true! Imagine if someone in Phoenix wanted to turn on the evening edition of KPNX 12 News on coming home from work, and then all of a sudden had TBN shouting at them or Mike Huckabee ranting-- the ratings would tank in a hurry!- 3706 replies

What's this I hear about TBN wanting to buy Tegna and replace the existing newscasts on those stations with hard-right religious shows? Did you hear about that? https://www.nexttv.com/blog/beware-of-religious-bias-in-media-consolidation- 3706 replies

ABC News midterm election coverage of The '78 Vote; has Frank Reynolds in New York, Max Robinson in Chicago, Howard K. Smith in Washington, et al. Here's what the Chicago bureau looked like on that '78 midterm coverage (wide shot showing more than we usually see):
-
ABC News coverage of The '82 Vote (a midterm election to determine House and Senate seats and state governors/lieutenant governors [state equivalent of President/VP], which is why this election coverage was from Washington, unlike Presidential election coverage from New York)
-
Somewhat like the old Huntley/Brinkley Report and original Chancellor/Brinkley NBC Nightly News of the 70s?
-
ABC WNT, Wed. Oct. 8, 1980 (has different announcer than the one we've usually heard)
-
The late Arlene Francis on the original Home show (1954-57) on NBC (the late Hugh Downs was the announcer): this particular broadcast (a partial one; the show ran for an hour daily) was 30 years before the other (similar) show of that name premiered on ABC in 1988 (that ABC one would go to 1994)...
-
Another big clip from btm0815ma: the first two-thirds (the hour portion) of the second broadcast of Sunday Morning w/Charles Kuralt, Feb. 4, 1979 (apparently a raw feed, as at one point you see the studio empty, and then Charles comes back in to his easel, among other things):
-
WSB Channel 2 (ABC Atlanta, GA): Good Morning Atlanta (morning edition), for Wed. July 1, 1981
-
Did you know that ABC's Chicago bureau on WNT (at least the first version) had more than we originally saw on television then? Here's a shot of an ABC News promo from 1980 talking about what ABC News had on then (this was on a recently-posted clip of the evening edition of WAKR Channel 23 when that was the ABC station of Akron/Canton, OH; it is now WVPX, and is the Ion Television O&O there); you'll see that, like the Washington bureau, there was a second header that had "ABC News Chicago" (in addition to the first one above the national map that we saw behind Max); you can see part of that second header in the top left of this screencap.
-
WDAY Channel 6 (ABC Fargo, ND): 1999 morning edition (First News); loved how the opening used the sunrise motif to indicate "morning edition"
-
ABC WNT, Thurs. June 14, 1979, w/Max Robinson in Washington, and Peter Jennings, Barbara Walters and Frank Reynolds in Vienna (Frank is in a studio in Vienna that I don't think we've ever seen before)...
-
That's quite the creative Eyewitness News title, especially for the NBC station of Lubbock (I think that's what KCBD was then, and still is now)-- the 1s of the channel number, separated by a large diagonal bar, forming a sort of N design (and thereby making the title Eyewitness 11ews, as quoted in the caption on the post).
-
1997 WKMG Channel 6 (CBS Orlando, FL) talent billing bump "You're watching WKMG 6 News, working harder for you... with David Wittman...Leslye Gale...Pamela Brady's weather...and Gordie Hershiser on sports."
-
Here's a really neat WJZ 1992 Eyewitness News opening I just saw; might be of particular interest to the ID Junkie for an update to the WJZ package.
-
WTRF Channel 7 (CBS Wheeling, WV), 6/21/85, partial broadcast (opening uses CBS Evening News music of the time; title at the time on WTRF was The News)
-
"This man has worked a long, hard day and he's got a lot of money to show for it-- other people's money. He's a pickpocket-- his take: $700. It's dangerous to carry cash. Carry American Express Travelers Cheques. If they're lost or stolen you can get them back. Your vacation is protected. American Express Travelers Cheques-- don't leave home without them." --The late, great Karl Malden, in one of his various commercials for American Express Travelers' Cheques, said commercials indelibly identifying him with that credit card brand (this one from 1975)
-
And the billing is a huge part of it, IMO: "From the Eastern Shore to the Outer Banks, and all of Hampton Roads... Jane Gardner, Gene Kapp, Dr. Duane Harding with Doppler weather, and Bob Rathbun on sports. This is WTKR-TV's News 3 at 11."
-
I think LMAD on CBS w/Wayne Brady has lasted as long as it has because it has been a proven brand in the industry (and we can give much credit to the late, great Monty Hall for building that brand into a household name).
-
More from KCNC: this 1982 weekend 10 P.M. late edition of NewsCenter 4 (Sunday, May 30, 1982) when Channel 4 in Denver was KOA (Bill Stuart, Steve Anderson with weather, and Davis deMontluzin on sports)

Of what affiliation was KDUH at the time of this noon edition in '84?
