  1. Evidently now we have a local version of Last Week Tonight.
  2. Can anyone say Cracked weekdays at 4?
  3. Food: Little Caesar's cheese pizza and Bud Light.
  4. Nah. ABC owns the rights to that font and Tegna is doing a rebrand soon.
  5. Ugh. These are so cheaply designed!
  6. The f*ck is with this TD Jakes? I feel like I'm watching Daystar on my Tegna station.
  7. Does that say 'NBC Artworks' or just 'Artworks"? Also, style guides only tend to dictate the overall concept not the flushed out and built package.
  8. Actually, they basically told him that it was a dumb idea, but since he was pushing hard for it, that he could have his way and if sweeps reports showed otherwise, his ass was canned. But his, and to a large extent Remington's reports keep showing massaged numbers. Corporate doesn't get the reports to poor over and make decisions. It's up to the GM to report the numbers, ironically.
  9. He was against it, but Scripps wasn't terribly impressed.
  10. That wasn't the GM or News Director's decision. Matt Laws IV, the former Assistant Creative Director at WCAU made that decision.
  11. 7 is a shit hole now... Someone should just by Scripps and call it a day. I can't tell you how unimpressed I am with their management.
  12. These graphics are contracted out to Hothaus Creative's project manager Matt Quinn who lives in the Cleveland area. Tegna is in frequent contact with Jon Fox and the Hothaus team, but Tegna's design mission hasn't aligned such that Hathaus is the right choice for the graphics package.
  13. Nothing from this reminds me of a Hearst station. Nothing at all.
  14. An overhaul. Not a facelift. They are distinct. The newspaper division choose the branding for themselves and the stations. Now that the stations are their own entity, they'll go in a different direction.
  15. Actually, within a year the websites are being overhauled. Tegna uses a different CDN than Gannett used (Presto). While Tegna kept the look, there are some notable UX differences between the two. Note the way that pages present. Anyway, an overhaul here coming soon.
  16. Hi, Alec. Can you please remove the word 'new' from the title of this thread? I feel like 2 years old isn't new anymore.
  17. No. The first two sentences were commenting on the Fox package that Stephen Arnold station. The latter was assuring the validity of Tegna overhauling their branding. I don't know who will design the graphics or compose the theme.
  18. I'm sure that the package is complete. Stephen Arnold told me himself. Who knows when it will air or if it got scrapped. This is according to a Tegna staff member. I can't say who though.
  19. Tegna will see a branding overhaul in the next year. Their web backend (Gannett's Presto) has switched to something new. If you compare any of the broadcasting website UX with one of the newspaper's UX, you will see subtle differences. Tegna is planning to overhaul the web design within the next year and then graphics, music, branding will totally flip the dichotomy away from Gannett.
  20. I've said this again and again. Gray is more likely buying Scripps. That said, let's keep this speculation to a minimum in this thread.
  21. * "Cracked". Weekdays at 3 followed by "The Now" on 7News. There, I fixed it.
  22. Making a run for it because WISH 8 is a sinking ship? 24-hour local news can't be very profitable.
