  1. I think Tucker was yammering on about this, a couple weeks back. Something about non-whole numbers being a part of the "liberal gay agenda." /s
  2. I'm going to guess that KCBS hasn't had a problem attracting viewers to network fare in primetime, daytime, late night, etc., but viewers have seemingly gone out of their way to change the channel when CBS2 News comes on. No need to move affiliations, as CBS programming surely does just fine. KCAL has been the more successful news brand, so they're leaning into it.
  3. Yeah, when Taft retired, the Mowry/Scott pair was essentially given equal billing in the first round of promos.
  4. It was adjusted from the demo we saw a few months ago. The idea is that it is the maximum height, extending from the top of where the LIVE (or whatever they put there) bug would be, on top of the bug, to the bottom of the main line of the package's ticker, which would be gone, at this point. I can't understand why they're still using the old CBSN ticker. THAT is something that shouldn't have last beyond day 1.
  5. Right or wrong on your assessment of NewsNation (you were defintely the former), you were acting like a self-righteous douche canoe then, too. That high horse might be depriving you of some oxygen. Might want to get off.
  6. I know your feelings about Greg, but I might play the long game, putting Jaisol on weekend evenings, and setting Greg up to succeed Tracy, unless they're okay with him only holding evenings for a not-too-long amount of time.
  7. It's been a minute since we heard, but off of memory, Kalyna at 4, before shifting to traffic, Chris and Marci from 4:30 to 7, as they've been doing, and Rudabeh and Jamie have been confirmed to be from 7-10. Unclear what the roles are for the last hour.
  8. Jesus Christ, he's anchored the 11 for nearly a year, and IT'S THE HOLIDAYS.
  9. Honestly, I hope this is just for the (hopefully, mercifully short) remainder of his contract, because there'd be more dignity in just letting him go.
  10. I'm guessing the back-up to the back-up, as they were still using a live announcer, at that time.

  12. Bless their hearts, I've liked a lot of what management has been done at NBC 5, lately, but what the hell is their deal with male anchors? Can they just not leave anything alone for a few years, much less A FEW MONTHS? I know they need to name a 5 & 6pm assignment, but they always seem to feel the need to fiddle with things that aren't huge problems.
  13. A warm, charismatic, 60-something Black woman, a hard news guy with a long European name and a great head of hair, and a cool, younger, former NFL player who also appears on a Sunday morning football panel show, all broadcasting from Times Square, in a studio with gaudy exterior signage, but seemingly doesn't like showing off the iconic views. Don't know where you got the idea that they're ripping off GMA.
  14. This was published over a year ago, and obviously a fan-made mash-up of a real close followed by drone footage with MCTYW put over it by the uploader.
  15. Carol Marin and Floyd Kalber would like a word. Hell, Allison Rosati's 25 years as lead has her GOATed, to a degree.
  16. She announced her retirement back in October, before the buyouts started rolling.
  17. It's 28° where I am. I'm already chilled enough. Too many folks take the opportunity to pile on with that kind of stuff, making up speculative demos, showing what their home stations would look like. And you're right, a few are fine, but there's enough of a track record for me to know that if I checked back a few hours later, there probably would've been a dozen more. I only meant it as a casual reminder to all.
  18. Thank for saying this in a much more polite, eloquent way than I wanted to. The "NEW GOOD, OLD BAD" attitude of said poster in this and another thread has rubbed me the wrong way, for some reason, but painting this community with such a belittlingly broad brush struck a nerve.
  19. Add'em to the list. It's gettin' long.
  20. He was last on Wednesday at 4, and was out the rest of the week. I'm guessing he had a COVID exposure, stayed home the required 5 days, and returned after a negative test and/or no symptoms. He'll probably remained distanced for this week, just to be safe, but is MOSTLY in the clear. Sounds like he's following what is likely company policy.
  21. From the Discord. I don't have the user's name handy, at the moment. KPIX_2022_3PM_Trim.mp4
  22. We're not doing this with every affiliate.
  23. Diane's been filling in for Roz for about a decade, and I'm not surprised that Terrell and Judy worked well together, as they were paired for 3.5 years. Karen was also in for Cheryl at 7, so that's normal procedure, and Terrell doing the 5, 6 & 10 is the same shift Ravi would do, when filling in for Alan. What I find interesting, though, is that Rob has been the consistent 6pm anchor since the retirement, so Terrell filling in there, too, raised an eyebrow. I'm going to guess that Ravi is getting time off before his heavy holiday workload, and Rob's contributing report at 10 was prerecorded, so maybe he was unavailable, but I'm guessing that this isn't the last we'll see of evening Terrell. I'm still in the camp that thinks that Baichwal and Elgas will split Krashesky's old duties, but I'll bet Brown gets more weeknight time, to keep him from feeling like he's passed over, in all this. Heck, Tanja has put in a few afternoon shifts, this year, as well.
  24. First Linda MacLennan, back in the fall, and now some of these familiar faces. We're officially living in a timeline where WBBM has a decent relationship with some former on-air talent, and I never thought I'd see the day.
