Funny you should mention that... (Note: this was on a weekend morning and nothing was animated, so I'm thinking this is an emergency backdrop for when things are on the fritz. That said, they've only EVER used it once.)

I just discovered that I could've been posting at 60fps this whole time, so that's new, but I wanted to make sure nothing else was off, in the process.

Okay, it only took like 10 hours to convert, edit, render, and post. Also, my desktop monitor isn't great, how's the video quality?

No mincing words, Floyd did not want "the girl" to anchor with him... http://abc7chicago.com/society/the-girl-and-the-big-tuna-kathy-brock-reflects-on-anchoring-alongside-floyd-kalber/3658993/

I loved that desk. The tweaks they made to the "white" set when they dropped Eyewitness News for ABC 7 really cheapened it.

The promos are now running, and Windy City Live will have their own send-off for Kathy on Wednesday, though it will not be for the whole hour. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=qvBWgoLvHXM;list=PLRUzFrK0TcW19v7Va2JzFrzYfeL3Y268n

I have a feeling you will.

Initial speculation was that she had been hit. Based on her injuries, doctors and even her coach believe she fell off the bike. Here's the story from a reputable journalist... http://www.robertfeder.com/2018/06/17/elizabeth-brackett-1941-2018/

I did some poking around on social media, just to see of there was any announcement of a promotion, and it appears that Katie has been on the weekend show since like April, if anchor team selfies are any indication. All I know is that Alex said he was filling in for Katie.
-
I can back up that that's the name floating around.

I rarely watch, but caught a few minutes of this morning's newscast on NBC5. Alex Maragos was filling in, and apparently Katie Kim is now Susan Carlson's co-anchor on weekend mornings. Though I don't believe it was ever permanent, Christian Farr sat in that seat, last I knew.

Fired/not renewed, but yes. End of February sweeps, '03. It wasn't really the most solid arrangement, but it had a little more meaning back then. Their last upstairs set was able to accommodate all 5 anchors at the end of the show, and they closed that way on most nights.

A newscast with 3 white men replacing the one minority anchor with a white woman could've ruffled some feathers. Chicago is one of the markets where that's a thing.

The simple succession plan is confirmed. Cheryl will anchor at 5, 7, and 10, Judy will add the 6 to the 4, and Tanja will join Terrell at 11. http://www.robertfeder.com/2018/06/12/abc-7-promotes-cheryl-burton-10-p-m-anchor/ http://abc7chicago.com/careers/new-anchor-assignments-at-abc7-eyewitness-news/3594937/

That awkward moment when you put together some updated promos that will now have to be taken off the air in just a month because the anchor dropped a bomb on everyone.

They went away from the Sirott news format years ago and the traditional Fox tone since then, got some established veteran talent, and got a new set, and it's given them the quality and credibility they've desperately needed. We had been campaigning for moves like that for half a decade.

After enough upheaval with Ron and Linda's retirements (haha, one is a semi-regular WCL guest host and the other has a weekly online video show), I doubt they'll rearrange too much. I bet they'll just go with the current back-up structure for when Kathy's off; Cheryl gets the 10, Judy at 6, and 11 could go either way, Judy or Tanja.
-
Holy cow, that came out of nowhere.

Scott Jones at FTVLive did mention that Whit Johnson might find his way onto the show. He's not always right, but it might be worth keeping in mind.
-
And pre-taping appears to be the plan.

You think they're actually hiring people for the new hour? Ha.
