1. After enough upheaval with Ron and Linda's retirements (haha, one is a semi-regular WCL guest host and the other has a weekly online video show), I doubt they'll rearrange too much. I bet they'll just go with the current back-up structure for when Kathy's off; Cheryl gets the 10, Judy at 6, and 11 could go either way, Judy or Tanja.
2. Holy cow, that came out of nowhere.
3. Absolutely. The set is really pleasant to look at. The doors are very nice.
4. Scott Jones at FTVLive did mention that Whit Johnson might find his way onto the show. He's not always right, but it might be worth keeping in mind.
5. And pre-taping appears to be the plan.
6. You think they're actually hiring people for the new hour? Ha.
7. If it's pre-taped, they could theoretically send it out to them at 11. My main concern, as an expansion of some kind seemed inevitable, is that GMA:PM will be competing with Live! and The View for guests.
8. That also confirms that GMA will go into the fall season as a 4-person show.
9. It's about time. After a few weeks of Ivory, McGill, Hamernik, and even Kolkmeyer, Janssen has been far and away the most frequent placeholder on weekend evenings. Good for him. Wouldn't this be his regular shift for CLTV, or was he a fill-in until Jim retired?
10. "The young woman." That really keeps the anonymity intact. For real, people suck.
11. David Ono, as well.
12. Ron Magers is guest hosting Windy City Live tomorrow.
13. I looked, it's streaming.
14. Like Mark McGinnis, Kristin is also freelancing at WTMJ in Milwaukee. Diane is more readily available, as they're not competing for her hours. Ironically, 'TMJ is where Diane was hired from.
15. Fathers and offspring Robert & Karen Jordan, Dan & Lauren Jiggetts, Tim & Rafer and Jenniffer Weigel. Chicago has a nepotism clause.
16. A complete episode of the partially-retooled 20/20 from August, 1979. Hugh Downs is host, but the set, theme and graphics are held over from the craptacular original concept. That open is amazing, and I love the theme song. A few 10pm promos for WLS are sprinkled in, as well.
17. Pro tip: unlike a lot of other paid subscription sites, I discovered that if you open the page, and click to stop loading it in full as soon as the article is visible, you miss out on some links and the comments, but you get the content unblocked. That's not really going to help mobile users, though.
18. It's hard to keep track, but I believe that this newest resizing of height and text is version 5 of the scoreboard. Not as tall as the original, which would still be the best, in terms of keep proportions consistent through the package, but it's infinitely better and easier to read than the shrinky dink model from two weeks ago. Now maybe they can leave it be for awhile.
19. The individual's left lapel is the standard placement for a pin.
20. They've used those for online-only/social media stuff for at least a year. Based on the new promos, that online material matches in font and color palette, but I highly doubt it's any real preview.
21. That promo was no fluke...
22. To be fair, they really don't play with the core, credited team too much. There's fluctuation in prominence and airtime, but it's been Robin, George, Michael, Lara, Amy and ginger for the better part of 3 years.
23. He filled in frequently pre-Ponce, and on some holidays, but I'd say it's been awhile. Marcus filling in for Dan is the other surprise.
24. Phil does the 5 and Larry's shift at 7, while the former fills in at 10. Phil will do the 4, 6 and 7 in Larry's absence.
25. So, WCVB West. Got it.
