  1. It almost seems like they're using it alongside the anchors' names, and, like now (8pm news), a newscast with a formal branding.
  2. Looks like the glassy skyline from the old bug isn't dead, yet...
  3. WGN's off the hook. Some dumbass just yelled FHRITP behind Stacey Baca on 7. No 1am rebroadcast tonight.
  4. I wonder why they didn't dump out after the 'bullshit', or definitely as soon as he asked her to quiet down. Who knows how she might've reacted in that moment?
  5. Based on his station bio, May 11th was his 40th anniversary as primary anchor.
  6. And Joel Daly is kept in the basement with the old set pieces and blue circle 7 blazers.
  7. Feder says that with Erin's move to evenings, Sarah will move to mornings, and Amy Rutledge will do evening traffic, but not for awhile, as she's giving birth to her twins today. http://www.robertfeder.com/2017/05/17/robservations-ready-set-go-wgn/
  8. Apparently Jeff Blanzy has officially been hired at NBC5. No formal role is listed, outside of being a part of the sports team, and I don't know if he or Berman is the official weekend anchor. http://www.nbcchicago.com/on-air/about-us/Jeff-Blanzy-422149243.html
  9. AM or PM? I don't anticipate changes in the evening, and the morning is just in transition. Whoever will do traffic will still be on 4 to 9, Dan Ponce is anchoring with various fill-ins, and Morgan will fill the void left my Demetrius. Larry, Robin, Paul and Pat will continue from 6-10.
  10. I'm not getting the impression that Erin will be doing traffic reports in the afternoon, and unless they're doing away with them altogether, they'll be replacing someone.
  11. Now they need a new traffic anchor in the morning. The bosses at WGN have given Erin an offer she couldn't refuse. She and her hubby will be back on the same shift... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1902627143096467
  12. With Lionel "on assignment", Erin Kennedy's anchoring the 11am news from the newsroom, but Megan's still streetwise doing weather.
  13. A woman doing weather on WGN? What is this, the 21st century?
  14. Then you're not looking hard enough for that criticism. She's one of our favorite metaphorical punching bags.
  15. Linda MacLennan is emerging from exile to join WBBM...Radio. http://www.robertfeder.com/2017/05/12/robservations-cumulus-ups-troy-hanson-ops-boss/
  16. 4 years in the Air Force + 6 years as a cop + 39 years in broadcasting = Yes, he's of retirement age.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if they opted for a split schedule with the weekenders filling the role (especially if they don't plan on expanding that individual's duties to a later newscast). In town, WFLD does it. Within the company, KNBC does it, too.
  18. What I saw of GDC this morning, there doesn't appear to be a weather center.
  19. Fox's is brighter and cleaner, but I give 7 a handicap for doing all they did in that tight space. To me, the two stations are 1A and 1B. Very well done by WFLD.
  20. I've got caps in a bit, but WOW. Possibly the best in the market.
  21. Mark McGinnis is now freelancing at WTMJ, but says he's still doing work for WLS. Busy dude.
  22. I don't know if it's mandated by the studio sponsor (I doubt it), but it looks like the radio station might getting a new logo...
  23. In an interview, the station's ND discusses the steps being taken to return Fox 32 News to respectability, the new set (which could debut as soon as next week), and how the FNC crisis has impacted the newsroom. Also included is another peek at the new digs... http://www.bizjournals.com/chicago/news/2017/04/28/how-the-fox-wfld-channel-32-news-director-is.html
