Even though Larry Mowry joins tomorrow, Phil Schwarz confirmed to me on Twitter (EXCLUSIVE! ) that he'll still be on the Sunday morning show next week, and that it will be his last.

When WLS carried at 2 central for two seasons, there were times that they aired headlines that had only broken minutes before. I wonder if multiple A-blocks are recorded through the afternoon, when necessary.
-
Like, as of it was 2 separate words? Otherwise, that just sounds like she emphasized the p on the first syllable. Soo-pitch. She was likely decently close. I saw a few minutes of her this morning, and was not hardly as bad as I expected.
-
Still an improvement. It was like exposed drywall and a hole or two before.

In recent weeks/months, they cleared the area behind the monitor to allow for a larger screen. Unfortunately, it looked sloppy. It looks like they painted/covered the unfinished wall and maybe even added some lighting, though it's hard to tell from the photo.

Mike Adamle's been off the air for nearly a month for personal reasons. Management expects him back soon. http://www.robertfeder.com/2016/04/06/mike-adamle-on-personal-leave-from-nbc-5/

Ah, right. Forgot about her. We were a channel 7 and (for some inexplicable reason) channel 2 house back then.

A lot of the CSN hires have been iffy, at best, but the 5 main stations have fared pretty well with female sportscasters...Jill Carlson, Peggy Kusinki, Paula Faris, Megan Mawicke, Dionne Miller, and now Magiera, who seems to be competent in her resume reels. I'm probably missing a few (at least it seems like it), but just as there are more men in the field, I can come up with a longer list of weak/poor/lousy guys than gals.

Ummmm... This doesn't seem right. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1188104071202124

That an effort to maintain locally-produced programming be damned so we can have yet another hour of news in an already-crowded time slot...a shift that would possibly be an "exclusive" on a certain website.
-
I don't see WCL going anywhere. It still does respectable ratings against the 3 newscasts, a consistent 2nd place in some demos. Really, there are 5 options for the 1pm hour... Rachael Ray moves back to the slot, and RTM goes to overnights. RTM airs a double run. RTM and Millionaire are paired together. Unlikely, WCL moves to 1, though I don't know where the other shows fall. The completely nuts idea, Eyewitness News and RTM in the 1 o'clock hour. (Perhaps fronted by Linda Yu and a semi-retiring Jerry Taft?) After that last one, I realize I need to stop drinking this early.
-
They're still doing the news/weather update at 11:28 and full forecast at 11:58 during WCL, but yeah. Color me crazy, though, but I'm not ruling anything out for the fall, as there are a few of variables on the new schedule.

Are these two anchoring the noon show, too?
-
After they moved it to 11 last year, it seems to have faded away. It still might be streamed, but they don't post the webcast for viewing after. That said, they still post some reports and the midday forecast with the non-time/temp bug. Long story short...I'm not sure if it's still around.
-
And Bernie rejected it.
-
No, no. I like multiple teams on an evening slate of broadcasts; my station of choice mixes and matches 6 evening anchors across 5 broadcasts. However, I think if a station airs a full hour at 4, 5, 6, whenever, the same 2 anchors should carry the whole program, and not switch one or both out halfway through.
-
30 minutes shifts on 60 minute broadcasts bugs the crap out of me. Are they separately-branded broadcasts (not that that makes it any better)?
-
Good for her. I understand the strategy of having a big draw like her as anchor at launch, but it did seem quite odd that she'd not only be expanding her airtime, but pushing her work day to after dark at this point in her career. Plus, this would likely return her to daytime duty just in time for Krashesky to ascend to the late shift (if that rumor is true). This should also eliminate any possibility of Cheryl joining Kathy at the big kids' table at 10. In addition, I'm guessing Linda will back up Kathy at 6 with more regularity.

...and Brian and Sharrie and Walter... Pretty much everybody but Jim.

Stumbled across this thumbnail on their Vimeo account. Look how much they love each other! They're all having so much fun! Gag me.
-
I could totally seeing him drop one broadcast (I'd bet the 5), and hang around another year or so. I wouldn't be surprised if the bosses would appreciate some veteran stability on the late show in the months after the Taft/Scott transition, and are willing to sweeten the deal to keep him a little longer.

One of Ron Magers' horses might be headed for the Kentucky Derby in May. Also, according to Feder, Krashesky is likely to succeed Ron after May sweeps, but nothing is confirmed. http://www.robertfeder.com/2016/03/28/robservations-chicago-pubcasters-launch-news-partnership/

Only like 3,450 years...give or take a day.
-
The real abomination is that version of the Circle 7 they use. Woof.
-
Absolutely, as they should, and as I do. There are 2 (about to be 3) others on the team more qualified, but she was hired with this intention. With how rumors go around (and I'm not talking about on here), if management wasn't as high on her, we probably would've heard some rumblings.
