  1. It's a shame because I think Shiba got a bad rap. She's really not that bad.

I think you're right. I watched her a few times and she improved a lot over the years. I blame WNBC more than her for why she hasn't worked out. She basically was hired to be Sue 2.0. Sibila is great but its not like she is so much better than Shiba. But I'm sure Shiba is going to be fine wherever she goes. I think Kerry Barrett is going to take Shiba's place when/if she does leave.

  2. He seems nice on Periscope but maybe he just wasn't working as well as they expected.

Keep in mind he's going from hosting 4-6AM in DMA 4 to hosting the evening news in DMA 11. I've seen jumps like this in the past.

You maybe right. And I didn't know Tampa moved up that much wow.

  3. They seem to be switching things up for some reason.

Natalie has not read News Briefs In The First Hour for Three Days now for whatever reason.

I have to admit frankly kind of bothers me a little

Maybe they are switching the format up a bit. I think Natalie is experiencing what Amy went through as she mentioned in her book. NBC has the tendency to drop a rising star when they see someone fresh come through, so they start putting all the attention on them and then drop the people that are there. This cycle always happens especially at NBC . I believed that this was happening to Lester too until the Brian Williams scandal. And we see how that turned out, Lester is their Saving Grace. I for one would like Natalie to leave too because she seems like she isn't happy. I know they would never do this but I would like for them to really phase out some people at Today (Matt, Al, and Natalie).

  4. I'm so excited for this event!!

40 hour livestream, many past anchors and personalities returning, a HUGE celebration to be held.

I so can't wait to check it out. Maybe even see Kevin Newman and Lisa McRee on national TV again.

All of the anchors are coming back so yes you will see Lisa McRee and Kevin Newman. Its funny because I forgot about a few personalites like Mike Barz and JuJu Chang. Those years JuJu was on went by so fast.

  5. Talk about a fast promotion. Rudaneh Shabazi who replaced Rhiannon Ally as morning co-anchor at Miami CBS owned WFOR in August is being promoted to weeknight 5 & 11 pm co-anchor replacing Irika Sargent who left for Chicago CBS owned station WBBM. Lauren Pastrana will be the new morning co-anchor.

It definitely was a fast promotion. It's almost like she already had the job. Maybe this was in the works for a while but this is really fast.

  6. Is Tamron about to be demoted from TODAY?

According to reports from yesterday and today it says she will be taking over the 10am slot on MSNBC. TODAY Show Third Hour end at 10, before her show airing at 11 work because it gave her an hour to g go across the street and prepare for Newsnation. But if she take over 10 it would be impossible unless she did the show from Studio 1A but that unlikely.

She will still be on today in the same compacity. She anchors the 3rd hour of Today which starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m. She will also anchor the 11 a.m. MSNBC Live time spot so nothing really change but the name. I believe Kate Snow will anchor the 10 a.m. news after Morning Joe ends.

  7. I don't think that set was ever meant to look flashy. If they wanted flashy, they wouldn't have added so many "homey" elements to it. But anyway...

You are probably right. It seem like I was correct when I said I hope people get what I was trying to say. Clearly I did not.

  8. Today and GMA's sets are nothing a like. GMA is chrome and futuristic like, where as Today, as Al Roker put it, was designed to be "America's living room." Actually, the current set more resembles their pre-2006 (or 7) all-white set than GMA's current one.

I never said that both sets look alike. I just said they tried to do something to me in the direction of what GMA would do and be a bit more flashy but their concept did not transcribe well. That's all

  9. I hated the set overall and kinda saw this coming. It was too orange and never felt like something Today would do. It felt like they were trying to capture GMA style/essence. It didn't feel true to them and I guess they are realizing it now. I hope people understand what I'm trying to say.

  10. Raycom Media is on an expanding newscast spree, just in time for the new TV season:

Well it looks like WPDE is finally launching a 5 p.m. newscast after more than 20 years of canceling it. It's premiering on September 14.

  11. Kristine Johnson has been filling in on CBS This Morning and also apparently has popped up on CBSN a few times. Is she gearing up for a move to national?

I said the same thing. I saw her on CBSN a few times a couple of months ago. Either she's going to work for CBS as a correspondent or this is just something she have in her contract... Who knows?? But this is a great look for her and from what I've seen she's doing a terrific job.

  12.

    Crazy thoughts...

Paula Faris joins 'The View', and leaves the weekend show, despite previous reports.

Amy moves to the weekend show (yes, demoted).

Josh returns to the main show.

    Strahan/Palmer/both exit the show.

I will say, despite his now-legendary ego, Josh was a really good fit on the show. He had a fantastic on-air with each member of the team. Of course, his bromance with Sam was strongest, but he had a great sibling-like goofy side with Lara, a similar ascent into news that endeared him to Robin, and Josh was literally the anti-George for good balance, but with enough journalistic chops to hold his own. A return might just be what the doctor ordered.

That is crazy. Amy is too popular to be demoted to weekends and basically she's in line to take over for Robin she leaves. and Josh is never coming back to GMA. It was some bad blood when he left so that's that. If your plans happen, they would be in jeopardy to becoming number 2 again and they wouldn't want that to happen.

  13.

I like this line-up a lot. I think Todd Quinones should be added in, either with Nicole Brewer or by himself on Weekend Mornings. I love his style while watching him and could mesh well with Nicole. Either that or take Evenings. I don't know about Diana Rocco though.

I feel the same about Diana too thats why I put a new female anchor in parentheses.

  14. KYW needs a to do a complete overhaul and they need to invest in the stations. Their product has been lacking for a few years now. I may get a big backlash from this but I think the Alycia Lane and Larry Mendte saga/incident, whatever you want to call it, messed up the channels reputation a bit and leaving the viewers with a bad taste in their mouths . They were on top at one point but now look at them. CBS in general needs to do some work on about all of their stations (WFOR, WCBS, KCBS, KTVT, etc.). I do agree that they need to hire at least 3 male anchors an another female anchor. A rebrand of their sports department and another male weathercaster for weekend mornings. Here's my take below:

Mornings: Erika von Tiehl and Male-co anchor

Noon: Pat Ciarrocchi and Male co-anchor (from the mornings)

Evenings should be broken up into 2 teams

5 p.m. and 11 p.m.: Ukee Washington and Jessica Dean

    6 p.m. and 10 p.m.: Natasha Brown and Male co-anchor

    Weekend Mornings : Nicole Brewer

Weekend Evenings: Diana Rocco (or new female anchor) and Male co-anchor

If they do this and stick with the teams for more than 3 years to show stability, then they might have a shot. Heck add a 4 p.m. or 7 p.m. newscast but make it a bit lighter and try to interact with viewers.

  15.

I wonder if that's where Fred Shropshire is headed?

That's the rumor. I kinda figured that's where Fred was going because, all the other stations have pretty solid teams with the exception of WJZY and I highly doubt he would be heading there.

  16.

Chris Hohmann updated his post to say Fred & Sheyenne Rodriguez (also a WTVD reporter) will be moving to Charlotte. No word on what station as of yet.

My bet is either WCNC or WJZY.

  17. Just announced at 11pm tonight that it is Stacey Bell's last day at channel 4...This month marks 1 year she's been with channel 4...No mention of where she's going.

Well this could be a stretch but she's probably moving back to Cleveland to WKYC because I know her husband was the Defense Coordinator with the Jets for a few years but I don't know if he's still there or not. So if its not Cleveland, it'll probably be wherever her husband goes.
