  1. WBTW has hired Annette Peagler , to co-anchor the 5:30 and 11 p.m. newscasts and sole anchor the 10 p.m. newscast on WFXB. She replaces Nicole Boone who has retire from the anchor desk and now the Special Events Anchor. This is one hire that I am exited to see! The last African American woman to anchor the weeknight evening news at WBTW (Vanessa Hill) left in 1994. Annette starts in a couple of weeks.

  2. At this point CBS just need to be content with their ratings. Still can’t believe this is the 13th anchor change in 20 years. CBS O&O stations in general are having this problem of low ratings and turnovers with the exception of WCCO and KDKA  (I believe).

Sidenote: Brad Edwards looks more like a weatherman with that salt and pepper hair ..ie Dallas Raines.

  3. That's a name I haven't heard in years, I hadn't heard anything about him since his second go-around at WCCB.

Mark always seems to get into some kind of trouble hahaha

  4. He and Adrienne Bankert have been anchoring with Dan Harris, but no formal announcement has been made. I probably missed it, and only Wikipedia says she's done, but I'm not entirely sure Paula has formally left the show, yet.

She left the weekend show officially a month ago.

  5. Well it’s being reported that Craig is the news anchor on Today. I guess after 2 years (give or take) they are finally bringing that position back. It’s good seeing someone who I grew up watching at WIS achieve great things!

  6. WMBF is celebrating a decade of existence. Happy 10th Anniversary.

My hometown market! I wish that Raycom would give them a new set (Wishful thinking). Mind you 10 years ago this was one of the best sets out rivaling WBTW. This station change the whole market by now all three stations have co anchors for the morning news and for early evening newscast (WBTW went solo anchor for a few years after Martha Hunn left at 5 in 2010). For years it was a sole anchor and a weather person but now all stations have 4 dedicated people for the morning show. As already mentioned they were the first station in HD for a couple of years. This station definitely made the market more competitive and that alone they have a lot to be proud of. Here’s to many more!

  7. It seems as if CBS wants to be number one and not put in the work to get there! If they actually come up with a plan and stop being brash with firing Scott before they had a real succession plan maybe they would’ve been better off. I will say the “eye opener” rundown was a good start.

  8. A newscast with 3 white men replacing the one minority anchor with a white woman could've ruffled some feathers. Chicago is one of the markets where that's a thing.

Isn’t that when Diann Burns left for Channel 2 and was replaced with Kathy! I can see why they did that but it seems like Cheryl didn’t have a clear definitive role and was just a feature reporter whose in the opening credits!

  9. Kyw needs a wcbs style massacre to change the station

They need changes but in hindsight, did the 96 massacre really worked or it was just another time for them to coast until they find another solution? Like most stations know their weaknesses/time slots. What could they do to bring viewers to watch them at this point? Channel 6 is still number one and 10 is a solid runner up!

  10. Yeah, Sade Baderinwa has not been on the 5pm broadcast for months since the injury. The 5pm is where Sade had originally started back in 2003 when she replaced Roz Abrams who left for WCBS.

When the substitute anchors introduce themselves, out of curiosity, do they say the following; "I'm Diana Williams, and I'm <First Name> <Last Name>, In for Sade Baderinwa" . The reason I ask this question, because if they say "In for Sade Baderinwa" that means that she still is officially the anchor for that broadcast, however if they no longer say that, then that means she is no longer the anchor and they are looking for someone else. I haven't seen a 5pm broadcast in a while so I can't confirm or say for sure if the sub-anchors say this key phrase.

That could be the case but I wouldn’t read into that until it’s officially stated she’s not the 5 p.m. anchor. Because I knew when some anchors go on maternity leave or leave of absence for any reason they sometimes don’t even mention them filling in for that anchor. But maybe she’s on a reduced schedule right now until the doctor plays her to work full time again.

  11. It's clear you don't like Megyn Kelly based on a political ideology (let's not forget that she was probably the FIRST journalist to seriously hold Trump accountable, back in that infamous first GOP primary debate.) That, and you ended nearly every one of your sentences! with an exclamation! point!

I never said I HATED her! I really wanted her to win!! I just said that she did a not so smart thing on Monday. We can all agree that was overkill if you like her or not. She just need to grow thicker skin if she let that hurt her. People already don’t care for her because of Fox News so that means she has to just try to prove the general public wrong. It’s not fair but it’s the way it is right now.

Again I don’t hate nor care if she’s a republican! It just seem like the culture at FOX News is to attack when things don’t go their way.

**We must stop assuming that when people don’t agree with the actions of journalists/media personalities that we must hate them and want them to fail! That wasn’t my intentions at all but more of awareness.

  12. I just saw the Megyn Kelly segement against Jane Fonda. It seems every ex Fox Newser is getting a reality check! Both Her and Megan McCain had bad press this week and it’s only Tuesday haha! You can tell they got their way more with Fox News and now the tides have turn! I believe Megyn Kelly should be reprimanded because what she did was completely uncalled for! It’s ok to air your grievances about Jane about the surgery but not to make it a personal attack on her because she didn’t want to answer your question! Some people are not going to be here for you sometimes and that’s ok! Just move on and you can either not have her come back on your show or keep your opinions to yourself! That was very “Mean Girl” of her. You have to believe NBC is like what did they do! I wanted for her to work out but this isn’t! I don’t know what else for her to do because after NBC she’ll be damage goods because Fox isn’t going to take her back and I don’t see who else would want her. She’s not worth 15/20 million dollars!

  13. After watching CTM and GMA/People segment on Ann, I see now why she isn’t going on NBC platform. Part of me want to give her a big hug because she been through a lot! Her career dreams were shattered and the place she’s been at since 1997 did nothing to help her. This to me is a perfect example of the Me Too movement. Both her male superiors Remained unscathed and blame for the ratings. Matt continued to have his job and Jamie Bell ( EP) got a job producing the Olympics. The environment at Today seemed very sexist (I know it is a lot of places like this). I hope Ann is a peace! She seems very genuine and you can tell that there is no love lost between her and Matt. I do wonder how she feels about Katie because I believe Katie took up for Matt more and shy away from talking about Ann.

***Breaking News: And will you looking at that! Don Nash the EP that replaced Jamie Bell is leaving and Today is getting a new EP.
