  1. I like best the KVUE cut, but how WTSP uses the "Da-da-da" rapid thing right after it.
  2. Man, News in Focus Mornings is good to listen to after a shower.
  3. I'm not sure, it's likely Hulkie/Matt would know.
  4. Reporter Will Lewis and a cameraman named Albert (who has been at WFMZ since 1995) visited my school, Warren County Tech, today for a feature on our robotics team; the report will air tonight at 6PM and will also appear online. I also gleaned several bits of info: WFMZ is equipped with 8 live trucks, and apparently are now using 5-6 LiveU backpacks; the PPL Center studio is apparently accompanied by a smaller newsroom, while fiber-optics are indeed the link between PPL and South Mountain. They also use Quantel for editing, as opposing to our TV/Radio program using Sony Vegas.
  5. Maybe the radiation in the air from those nuclear tests decades ago is starting to affect people's minds, like making people think Pauly Shore is funny.
  6. This "Blue Helio" thing seems to be like the Bigfoot of these boards- no one can find concrete proof of their existence, and yet rumors swirl about.
  7. I've seen a lot of that stuff over on TVARK, with additional analysis on Transdiffusion; ITV's gone down hill.
  8. Yeah, now it just seems like overkill. They kinda jumped the gun here.
  9. I wasn't able to see the noon newscast, but I did see the netcast; the set wasn't mentioned, but you could see what looked like a WABC-style monitor grid BG and the reflections off the windows.
  10. Oh yeah, I reported this in the shoutbox a couple days back, but it warrants repeating: WTXF has stationed a translator relay on South Mountain as of December 29th; I discovered via a add-on scan. I'm hoping the other Philly stations will soon do the same.
  11. Well, I remember how, until the mid 2000s, WPIX always had a funny picture quality on Comcast in NJ; even when we moved to Warren County, the picture looked funny until around the time they became The CW11. I'm guessing it was something in their link to Comcast. Maybe that's what's happening, only on DTV.
  12. It was a general report about all the snow we got today.
  13. Saw on the 6PM report what looked like a portion of the new set; a reporter was stationed outside the PPL center, and I could see a giant video wall playing promos on a loop for the 4PM report, and a glass desk with the logo on it; it was in the background, so I couldn't see more.
  14. It should be noted the original set was recycled from the failed soap "The City", which was created to salvage the failure of "Loving", with some of the surviving characters from "The Loving Murders" arc moving over to that show.
  15. Recently saw that they finally changed their weather graphics and the StormCenter sting to have the newest AccuWeather logo, instead of the old one. Promos and 69.2 are still using the old logo for now, though.
  16. How'd you get that info?
  17. It's good to have a vacation where you can just veg out.
  18. I'm starting to wonder at this point if Dick Goddard is immortal or a cyborg or something. Here's to many more years.
  19. Just saw on First@4 that they have a new reporter, someone named Renee Stoll. Anybody know who she is?
  20. WFMZ might count; they are part of the Philly market; they air a Spanish-language newscast weeknights at 11PM.
  21. OK, OK, I give up, it was a bad idea. I don't tend to think things all the way through, it's a habit of mine. I'm NOT intending to be a troll. I hereby give up that train of thought.
  22. Right, giving up now.
  23. Sorry, but it's just that everybody here complains about them, and I thought that maybe, we as a group could run them better. We could perhaps spinoff the former Fisher/Allbritton stations as a separate company. And besides, I've always wanted to be part of a pitchfork-wielding mob, and Sinc-liar (yes, I'm spelling it like that) seemed like a very viable target.
  24. All I'm saying is that we should all assemble in person and take over the company, so we can dismantle the monopoly machine they've got going, and help restore dignity to the industry; we'll embarrass the FCC while doing it, given how they've just sat on their butts and are content to let Sinclair take over everything. And besides, we're trying to do something good for the industry, and we are perfectly mentally healthy, as compared to the WMAR guy, who didn't seem to have any motivation.
  25. Everything Sinclair's done since the late 90's has been a disaster of some sort; we really need to form an angry mob and ransack their HQ already. Who's with me?!
