  2. New York Post article on O'Donnell (CBS denies they were looking to replace O'Donnell) https://nypost.com/2022/06/02/norah-odonnells-salary-slashed-by-more-than-half-at-cbs-evening-news/
  3. I wonder what went down at KTNV in Las Vegas. Both the GM and the ND are out.

  6. Former Grand Rapids and Kansas City meteorologist joins KSDK in St. Louis.
  7. This is from a few days ago. You get quite the sendoff in Honolulu. I assume this anchor is heading into public relations. Video: https://www.facebook.com/LaurenDayNews/videos/1032372437384691
  8. Anecdotal, but it always seems like the floodgates open at a station when a couple of people leave. No one wants to be left to do the work of five or six people.
  9. Unsurprisingly, The Hill is coming to NewsNation. https://deadline.com/2022/05/nexstar-newsnation-earnings-the-hill-1235020231/
  10. WETM in Elmira fired its anchor (who is also the ND), who is seen on video from what appears to be a private vigilante group with no law enforcement training. There is no criminal case either. https://www.fingerlakesdailynews.com/2022/05/02/1423738/
  11. The rumor is more layoffs are coming at regular CNN, could be announced next week.
  12. New weekend meteorologist at WDAF-TV (all five on staff will have AMS seal, I think).
  13. New morning meteorologist at KCTV: https://www.instagram.com/p/CcRHmLxO-PK/
  14. One of my co-workers will be showing up soon. I don't know what shift she will work. She said PVI tries to match the personality with the shift and existing staff. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=410403580899005&set=a.215219893750709
  15. Stations in New York and Philadelphia, and to some extent Washington, are having illness problems right now. You don't make people work marathon double shifts in top ten markets unless it is an emergency.

    In Memoriam

Our San Francisco blogger is reporting meteorologist Joel Bartlett (KPIX, KGO-TV) has died. Bartlett retired in 2006.
  17. Today was Joe Chiodo's last day at KCTV.
  18. Given the gossip about toxic workplaces being leaked to the New York media, it's kind of a funny coincidence Norah O'Donnell's "Ted Lasso" story aired tonight. O'Donnell: "Kindness and positivity can be transformative" Sudeikis: "And so can the opposite."
  19. Nexstar is offering the NewsNation live feed to its stations for live Ukraine coverage. I don't know if any stations took it.

    In Memoriam

One of the original FOX News Channel reporters, Jim Angle, has died. https://www.foxnews.com/media/fox-news-channel-original-jim-angle
  21. Opus is long gone. Stations converted to ENPS pretty quickly after the sale. Master control stuff is taking a lot longer to implement.
