I wonder when the new opens and promos will debut. I find it hard to believe they are taking this long to just debut opens and promos.

I think Live will be ok once it starts to set in but I expect WCL to be dumped for a return of the news at 11am. Also, as an outsider (not in Chicago), I don't watch ABC 7 Chicago all that often but when I do, I get the feel of it being old. The set, graphics even the music (to a much lesser extent) all seem old. Maybe they should take a page from NBC 5 and do a bit of an overhaul and redo the set, get new graphics and maybe a small update to the existing music. I think the content is very good at WLS but I think it is just dying for an update. Of course I'm sure 24994J and CircleSeven have more of and idea of what WLS needs as they are in Chicago but that is what I see from my smaller perspective.

It's like that now at noon as well. I doubt they are going back so maybe a glitch or mistake, we will see what sticks...

You know, after watching Heather these past 8 months and having Joe back for the week, I have to say, I think both are great but I think Heather does just as well "bantering" or whatever you wanna call it with the team as Joe does. I think Heather is just a little more "fresh" in the morning. I really hope they aren't gonna try to put Joe back, I love watching him but I have really come to enjoy Heather in the mornings. And if you look at Lori, Ken, Bill and Heather's twitter pages, they clearly have a blast on and off the camera. Are WCBS and WNBC doing it this year as well? I assume so but haven't seen any commercials on it like WABC is running now.

I honestly don't think we have much to worry about. Ratings will probably not be as good as ABC 7 News at 11am and WCL will probably be shortened to 30min or cut for the news eventually.

Has WNBC decided what is going to happen to the 2p.m. time slot yet?

I agree with everything but an update to the music could be nice. I would love if they went back to ABC7 Eyewitness News instead of channel 7.

I'm getting a vibe from nynewsguy's post that suggests its more than that.

I wonder (but doubt) if they will go with the KABC graphics. Anyway truly looking forward to finding out. I assume they will also debut the new opens and promos this weekend too then?

Today Liz anchored at Noon, Liz and Rob anchored at first at 4 and Diana and Ken are anchoring 5pm. Fun day!

Oh, I absolutely hate one evening news team but I think that is the way they would move if Dana retires, moves or is not extended.

I could see them following WBBM and having Maurice and Kristine do all evening broadcasts on WCBS.

It had previously aired. I actually got a video of it, it is a very good promo. Likely to replace the current "More reporters on the ground etc..." promo. Very nice promo plus it has the new logo.

Clearly people disagree with you considering they are the most watched morning news in NY by a long shot. Sometimes I think we just want some kind of change because it can get boring to follow NYC News behind the scene otherwise. No anchor change is needed at WABC.

I hope they add Heather to the morning open because she really is an important part of the newscasts (just as much so as Bill Evans).

From multiple of the anchors on social media, they are shooting new promo and talent opens today.

I noticed today that instead of a "Special Weather Report," they now use "This is a Channel 7 Eyewitness News AcuuWeather Alert.

I just saw it for the start of EWN at 5. It has this look [see below] and says "This is breaking news from Channel 7 Eyewitness News." WABC has updated there logo with the new abc logo and an updated 7. Also, I don't see it posted but they are now using "breaking news" in the breaking news open instead of "Special Report."
