World News Tonight takes fourth week in a row in viewers and also wins key demo for third time in four weeks. Impressive, good job to David and ABC.

It was more of a "conversation" like newscast than a traditional newscast. Tamsen and John talked about many of the stories more than at 5 or 10pm.The only difference I've noticed is they are standing at the news desk.

Lori is anchoring at 4 and 5pm.This week Michelle is on in the AM and Lori is on at 4pm.
Why not keep Lori on her regular schedule and have Michelle keep subbing at 4pm?
-
I wonder if the weekend broadcast has been down without Lester. Wouldn't surprise me.Lester on tonight. First time on air on a weekend since his first week of filling in for Brian.
-
Michelle Charlesworth anchoring with Liz Cho at 4pm.

David.Who anchored the mothership tonight?
I believe WNT has it's big editorial meeting around 2pm (when the special report aired) so David was probably busy. Was the verdict really a surprise to anyone? George was probably gone for the day already, and David hadn't arrived yet? It wasn't a "developing" story that would require updates, so maybe Dan was the first person who was available?
-
Kate Snow anchored for NBC. Maybe they just didn't find it important enough for their A game to be there?Dan Harris anchored the special report announcing the verdict in the Boston Marathon bombing trial. Where were George and David?

LocateTV is showing the PIX 11 News at 6pm debuting this Friday. No official announcement yet.

I think it will be ready in May.Has anyone heard or seen any recently developments regarding newsroom construction? I think it was supposed to be done around now give or take a month. The recent pics I've seen show all of the newsroom staff still cramped together at those makeshift desks.

A well deserved win for ABC. Let the ratings war truly commence! It's just coming out now on Twitter, so I haven't yet seen any articles, but many sources confirm that 'World News Tonight' won the total ratings battle last week; first time in 5.5 years (during Gibson's home stretch).
-
That probably has to do with the expanded Noon show. 3.5 hours is a lot for a fill in.Yeah Lori said on Twitter she was in Clevland for Lisa Colagrassi's funeral.. I've noticed lately they've been using evening anchors for the noon instead of whoever filled in on the morning

Sandra doesn't fill in at 5pm very often. I think Bill, David, Lori, Rob Powers, Rob Nelson and Joe Torres will all be filling in. Lori used to be the primary fill in for both Sade and Diana at 5pm and many times 4pm but I haven't seen her anchor either recently. Similarly, David used to fill in at 11pm but that doesn't happen much anymore either. My guess is a rotation between Bill & David, with a Sandra Bookman, Lori Stokes, and Joe Torres thrown in here and there. Interestingly, Liz Cho was in for Lori at noon today (I believe Michelle filled in during the morning).

I mean if you've ever watched the 7pm newscast, it's rather boring and dull. I love the news but I just can not get my self to watch a whole WNBC 7pm newscast.WNBC just recently started streaming their weekend newscasts a few weeks ago. However they no longer stream their weeknight 7 pm newscasts. I'm sure WCBS will stream their weekend newscasts eventually.

He is the solo anchor at 6 and 11pm.Stupid question... Does Jim Gardner anchor the 11pm broadcast alone? Or is there a co anchor?
-
He is the primary fill in for George.David anchored GMA this morning and WNT this evening.
-
No, Amy Robach filled in for David.I think that Cecilia subbed for David earlier in the week, so she probably took her normal shift off.
-
I'm sure she is off this weekend. She is the official anchor of the Saturday broadcast so it's not like something changed.Tom Llamas anchored both newscast this weekend. Where is Cecilia Vega? I also saw Savannah Guthrie on NN.
-
Could be. It wouldn't surprise me. And by the looks of it, it would be more serious than political...Okay, check out this promo...
Am I out of line thinking that there's a logo change on the way for WNT?

Lisa Colagrossi was taken off life support this morning after suffering from a brain aneurysm last night. A native of Cleveland, she was 49.
-
I have to say, Suki and Dan Mannarino have a great rapport. I think they would be great co-anchors.
-
Today marks 9 years since the passing of New York's legendary Bill Beutel.
-
And while Ernie is good, he isn't Bill Ritter, Jim Gardner or Ron Magers.Yes they can. It's the media business. Veterans and legends get screwed all the time.
-
Agreed. Steve and Dari are basically the brand for Fox 5 as Rossana and Greg are in the Morning. Adding more pairs just confuses the brand.Actually that looks less likely. No way they go from 3 current weeknight anchors to 5.
I wonder if they're toying with adding any newscasts (weekend mornings or 11pm)?
And with the recent ratings success of Fox 5 News at 10pm, they would be very smart to add an 11pm newscast.

Speculation is back that Natalie is on the way out. Reports say Hoda would replace her as newsreader and that she would go to Dateline.

Pure speculation on me but if Lester officially takes over weeknights, she would make a great weekend NN anchor.
