I did see on facebook that Mike Landess' wife still lives in Denver so he commute back from Colorado & Texas. I wonder how he feels to be back at Gannett, so much has changed since he left WXIA. I wonder if he has any Gannett stock left?- 3735 replies

I would think Chris Lawrence as well too, because I just don't seem him sitting on the weekends forever, but I don't think WRC would cut that 6pm from an hour to thirty minutes; that bread and butter for NBC. Just like Cox's mothership WSB will always keep that 6pm news an hour in house and have network at 7pm.

Who do you think will get Veteran Jim Vance's job? Chris Lawrence, Shomari Stone, or Aaron Gilchrist? Some heavy hitters who would want the top job by a D.C. icon?

Yes, Jeff been doing double duty news & sports on 11 & WATL. I was wondering if she would jump ship back to 46 since she did work there, but in what capcity? Stephany & Co are trying to give 46 some identity. Let see how this will play out.

@ATLNEWS46 One has to wonder what going on at the house of 11Alive....First Fred now Karyn and word on the street 11 dumping sports. --SIGH---

Rodney Ho from AJC is reporting that Fred Kalil is jumping ship from WXIA/11Alive to WGCL/CBS46 as sports anchor. He been with WXIA for 22 years and they will waive his non-compete clause. Kalil starts March 23 just in time for March madness games on CBS. http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2015/03/10/cbs46-hires-11-alives-fred-kalil-as-new-sports-anchor/ Word on the street i.e. newsblues.com Atlanta station phases out sports department so it sounds like 11 dumping sports

Will Leon Harris be doing what Jeff Barnd did? Becoming a national reporter for the Sinclair chain? Let face it you can't get older at this company because for some reason they seem not to care for someone who gets 50+ who on camera. I don't know why, because David Smith like 60, and he no spring chicken. Another theory: Will Jonathan Elias anchor 4,6pm and Leon handle the 5 & 11pm shows?

WOW~ They were in fist a cuffs at Eyewitness News 4? The article goes on to say that the news director said Joles is having a hard time fitting into the this modern day broadcasting era. Does that means you think he'll be replace soon, or when his next contract cycle comes up?

Also in the Big Easy; Juan Kincaid jumps from WWL to WVUE to replace former sports director Fred Hickman who left FOX 8 last week.

Yeah everything your saying is true. McCarthy was never a catch for the audience, and I heard she tested low when she went in on the screen test. It been reported that O' Donnell thing was if she comes back Geddie had to go, and he did. The article said that ABC will lose that real estate to the local affiliates. In the game scheme of things ABC will continue The View for another year IMO. They will find a niche that will work, and I wouldn't be surprise if some for faces will re-appear. ABC is not going to concede to CBS just yet.
-
Barbara sold her 50% last summer to ABC, and she thought ABC was going to keep Geddie, but once ABC got a hold of the show "major changes" happened behind the scenes. Now The View is apart of ABC News. I don't think they will canceled it just yet, because over at CBS The Talk is doing really good. I think ABC will refresh the show again, and probably bring on some old faces even Babs. It also a vehicle to promote ABC's shows, and CBS does the samething on The Talk, but The View not going down without a fight. OMG! Do we need to see Lara Spencer on any Good Morning Whatever? I don't know how she lost out on Mary Hart's job at E.T...
-
Yeah the soaps have been expensive for years, and the networks have cut the licenese fees, and it cost 50 million dollars to produce the soaps each year. ABC has owned all their soaps, and General Hospital got a surge in the ratings the last 2years cycle. I think all three networks are waiting for the dust to die down. CBS has a contract for their soaps until 2017 and NBC contract run through 2016. ABC never really has a contract, because they have always owned their. However Good Afternoon America or a 9am Edition of GMA the question is do we really need another morning news/ fluff program? I think ABC going to change The View host again, because their not going to concede to CBS. CBS' The Talk is NOW besting The View. The View, The Chew and General Hospital will remain the same probably for the next year or two. They don't want to upset the apple cart on the soap opera front just yet.

Was she as bad as some of the postings said about her? There are times where Cox bring in some shrew executives, and a few moments down the road they get tossed out on their backside. Let see how this one will play out.
