Sounds like the new norm a syndicated show get cancelled the station starts a 4pm news. It seems certain groups are news heavy while others groups bask at the 4pm hour w/ Judge Judy, Oz, Phil, Ellen. Are there any stations carrying Ins Edition, EXTRA, Access Hollywood at 4 or 4:30?

http://www.ftvlive.com/ftvlivegmailcom/2016/3/30/breaking-pittsburgh-anchor-is-fired-for-facebook-post Wendy Bell Fired at WTAE/Pittsburgh Look she has a family not a fan of what she did, but I remember she was the rising star and other sites bashed her, because Michelle Wright & Sally Wiggin was pushed back for Wendy. Hopefully, she'll get another gig, and stations/on-air talent have to make sure what's right to place on social media.

Keith Olbermann he wants to be back at MSNBC so bad he can taste it. Move Chris Matthews at 6pm followed by Chris Hayes at 7PM and Olbermann right at 8PM, Maddow and Lawrence. Halperin & Heiliemann should just stick with being on Morning Joe.

Why do you hate the different anchor on a 30 minute newscast. I like don't care for having the same anchor team doing all (3 or 4) newscast M-F? A newscast should have some variety of talent on the evening news.
-
I agree. I see Carr being picked up by WXYZ, and maybe an anchor chair. Since Jeff Vaughn gone to LA who anchoring the 5pm news on 7 nowadays?
-
The ax swings the wrong way. There some other on-air personalities that should of gotten the boot, and Murray was the wrong person to get kicked to the curb. He been there for 40 years. WOW! Here hoping they don't get rid of Sherry Margolis, because a few years ago they were trying to get rid of her, but she was saved. She another mainstay that been with the station since 1984.

I don't think they have an actual White Castle brick and mortar in the South...They have Krystal...

AT CBS46 would you shake up the anchor team or just makes some adjustments?
-
I remember when WGNX was an Indy outlet had a 7:30PM newscast, before switching to CBS. By 96 the 7pm news move to 6PM. They did see an influx with CBS' primetime ratings, but I agree Meredith did do a lot more with investing in a new building, resources and more newscast. I don't see CBS46 moving Y&R unless CBS said so, because Y&R ratings at 3PM wins it time slot & beating WSB-TV. When your in last place you have to do some bold moves, and Y&R is a good lead-in to the 4PM news. I think another bold move for CBS46 would be to take Wheel/Jeopardy from WXIA. Also wish TEGNA would drop some $$$ on WXIA to be more competitive and maybe it time to drop the 11Alive moniker, but after 40 years would viewers really be upset because it no longer 11Alive? I know around 93/94 viewers were so pissed off about it no longer identify as 11ALIVE.

No, I wasn't jumping down your throat, but wanted to clarified on some points. Cleveland, Detroit, Atlanta, Milwaukee affiliates at that time the audience didn't jell to well with the affiliation switch in those markets. However, later on Atlanta, Cleveland those two FOX outlets did rebound. It all good, no worries.
-
Some of that not so much true. Prior to the switch WSB & WAGA battle for the top spot, and there were times where WAGA would beat WSB. After the 94 switch starting in 1995 WAGA's ratings had cracks and the ratings fell sharply especially during the early evening news at 5-7pm block. More switched to WXIA when the switch happened and during the 1996 rating book WXIA trailed WAGA and even trump WAGA in early evening news. Here a ratings snap shot from late news in 95 & 96 Late News Nov 95 WSB/2 (ABC) 14.2 WAGA/5 (FOX) 9.1 WXIA/11 (NBC) 10.3 WGNX/46(CBS) 4.0 Late News Nov96 WSB/2 (ABC) 11.8 WAGA/5 (FOX) 8.6 WXIA/11 (NBC) 9.8 WGNX/46 (CBS) 4.0

How is it that Baskerville's face the only one to maintain on the evening news while they have shuffle the deck many times? Does he have a high Q rating?
-
Yeah, I've been watching Isn't that part of the rotation, because Paula, Candice are not always on and then they bring in Sherri & Sunny so it always a toss up. I still think Whoopi will be apart of the 20th season. Who going to moderate the show if Whoopi out, Joy? With this being a political season that The View niche, with the politicians coming on always seems to be their thing.

There only 4 soaps Y&R contract up in 2017, and B&B is either up 2016 or 17. Days have a 1 year renewal with the possible following year renewal. ABC owns GH so it can cancel it anytime. However those soaps cost $50million to produce a year, so if the soaps make it to 2018 & beyond would be something. I think if these networks were to streamline the serialized drama, by creating new content, and airing them for 30 minutes they can be viable again, and make the $$$ the networks are use to. Court shows & talk shows are cheaper to produce, but the talk shows are not finding their niche like 20 years ago. CBS owns The Talk and Jules' show is safe. I think they want to get The View to the 20th season and possible cancel the show. However don't be surprise if there's a 21st season. Steve Harvey, Ellen, Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, The Doctors, Kelly & Michael, Rachel Ray, Wendy Williams (I don't know how how Maury/Jerry are still on) seem to be the safe, but every new talk-show doesn't last. If Harry Connick Jr, show is a success that good, but the studios/networks are looking to bring in big name stars... Oprah, Montel, Jerry, Ricki Lake, Geraldo, Jenny Jones were not big stars when they started out. They were known in their circles either local news/network news or whatever. I just hope Daytime landscape doesn't become a sea of just news. You have to entertain the audience, and give them something to escape from.

Whoopi has a play or pay contract, so I don't think Whoopi going anywhere. I think Sara, Joy, Michelle, Candice will come back. Raven & Paula toss up. Raven could be on a ABC/Disney show, and Paula stick with GMA & ABC NEWS. Also Rebecca Campbell over to ABC Daytime http://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/programming/campbell-given-abc-daytime-oversight/154079

How many more stations will add a 4pm news?

Watch many people will leave once Nexstar takes on Media General Stations. A mass exodus of people will leave or be force... Good Luck, to those employees.
