  1. George is anchoring a special report right now, and the graphics have indeed been updated. They've done away with the red/white/blue remnants from the old WN package. The fonts are in line with the new WNT package and the colors are darker -- more blue, and more similar to the special report package prior to the red/white/blue.
  2. Based solely on the two clues, my guess would be Sam, since I think he's publicly expressed his love for both. But, like many of you have mentioned, I have a hard time believing NBC would allow it. We'll see.
  3. Anchoring the 4 today: Diana Williams and Sandra Bookman.
  4. They gave two clues -- this person loves BBQ and beaches with white sand and clear water.
  5. I don't think Liz is going anywhere. This job is too good -- anchoring the 4 and 6 means she's with her daughter in the morning and the evening. Plus, she's in DMA 1. Let's not assume Josh's career is more important than hers. If Josh were to join FS1, I imagine he'd work out a deal that either has him anchoring from a studio in NY or has him as a correspondent traveling for major sporting events.
  6. David Muir will be anchoring WNT live from the New Hampshire debate center tonight.
  7. I find that song really annoying (they used it last year, too, I think) and it would have been nice if they used short video clips rather than flashing stills, but otherwise, it's nice.
  8. I wonder if ABC will update its Special Report graphics to bring them in line with the WNT graphics update.
  9. WABC has typically not updated its News Team page (http://abc7ny.com/about/newsteam/) to include freelancers (e.g., Andy Field, Renee Stoll) but does update it to include full-time staff. Kala Rama, CeFaan Kim, and Mallory Hoff all do not appear on the page. So, either all three of the newest hires are freelancers or the page just hasn't been updated (but the latter seems unlikely).
  10. Surprised to hear Elliot is being allowed back on the show. I guess relations have warmed.
  11. Don't forget about this classic one...
  12. Regardless of whether he can handle it or not, it is still unusual to see someone in a non-news role to perform a news role, especially as an anchor and especially at the national level.
  13. I'm not sure ABC has ever done that before (meteorologist in the anchor chair). Maybe Dan called out last minute (or is he still overseas?).
  14. Regardless of whether individuals on this board think the comments were offensive or taken out of context, it's about perception. My Facebook feed has been filled the last few days with anti The View posts. Edit: Johnson & Johnson has suspended its advertising during The View in response to the comments and backlash: http://money.cnn.com/2015/09/17/media/the-view-johnson-and-johnson-ads/index.html.
  15. A report was filed tonight by a new Eyewitness News reporter named Mallory Hoff.
  16. Ken Rosato in tonight for Joe Torres.
  17. Yeah. Looks like its a solid white with a very light border.
  18. Oddly enough, my computer displayed literally the same image (the old one) in both of your posts yesterday. Now I see the new one, and I see that it is flat and includes abc7ny.
  19. Just think about the reporter sign-off, for example. WNBC uses "Sheldon Dutes, NBC New York," WCBS uses "Matt Kozar, CBS 2 News," and WABC uses "N.J. Burkett, Channel 7, Eyewitness News." No mention of ABC, and that's because viewers know the station best as "Channel 7."
  20. They even changed the name of the Facebook page. They completely dropped "Eyewitness News."
  21. Not even. They're just saying "...you can find it on ABC7NY" or some other variation. It sounds quite stupid, really. Makes you wonder who it was that thought it would be a good idea. At least 7online had the word "online" in it. At least say "You can find it at ABC7NY online" or something like that.
