  1. Here is that older version that they are talking about that I like better, too. Only the music on this. You'll notice the difference.

They did in special edition about Paris bombing recently. Not sure if they will keep it though.

  2. Big changes are coming to two former ComCorp stations July 1st.

In Lafayette, KLAF will become an NBC Affiliate, while MyNetworkTV will move to the DT3 subchannel of KADN. KLAF will also have local news by early 2016.

And in Waco, KYLE will split off from KWKT and become a MyNetworkTV affiliate.

Now that they have switched, does KWKT and KYLE really expand broadcast areas? Or will they made subchannels to rebroadcast each others like WFXR and WWCW did?
  3. So WJCL moved their site to Hearst Television's CMS provider, Lakana (the former Internet Broadcasting). However, they are not using the layout that the other Hearst stations use. Rather, they are using the same layout that Nexstar is rolling out to their stations.

It makes you wonder, if the other Hearst stations will get this layout in the near future, because it's responsive and the existing Hearst sites are not (they load a separate mobile skin when I browse on my iPad, for instance).

    Check it out at http://www.wjcl.com/

So when will WTGS have new website?
  4. Not really related to 69 News, but WFMZ aired a syndicated morning talk/entertainment show from 9-10AM called "The Daily Buzz". It was in 150-some markets around the country and was canceled Friday--not because of ratings, but because an investor pulled out. It was on for 13 years. WFMZ is now airing some more judge/court shows in its place.

As the morning show that have once aired in The CW Plus and Soul of the South Network, it's really surprising.

  6. We have a new M&A this morning. And it's related to a former Media General station.

It appears that University of Georgia is selling it's Toccoa, GA's non-commercial station WUGA-TV (formerly WNEG-TV) to Marquee Broadcasting for $2.5M ($2,500,002).

So it looks like to me that this group is another one of those 'speculators', who are only in to buy so they can cash-in after auction time. Remember this is the same Marquee Broadcasting that bought Salisbury's ABC affiliate WMDT in 2013.

Looking Wikipedia and found out that WUGA-TV/WNEG was CBS affiliate in MG era because WGCL wasn't available in that area. Why MG need to sell that station?
  7. Meredith's "Better" is no more, instead it will continue to be a brand for their local adver-fluff fests (lifestyle shows)...

It was already in the graveyard shift at recently acquired WALA, who also has a vacancy on their "Studio Ten" show after Cherish Lombard departed for an anchor job at WKRN in Nashville. Chastity Byrd has been co-hosting for the time being, and the job is posted on Meredith's job page....

Could this be an opportunity to retool the show with the "Better" brand?

Wow. The CW Plus has been broadcasted this show and Intelligence for your Life to replace The Daily Buzz. Now Better canceled? Wow.

So I'll be interested what CW+ will do next.:watch:

  8. Terrell Brown moves to morning anchor on WLS/ABC 7 in Chicago while Hosea Sanders moves to the 7pm news on ABC 7 for WCIU-26.

Sinclair's KUTV news director Jennifer Dahl named West Coast Group ND for the company. She'll be working with stations News Directors at: KOMO, KATU, KNSV and KUTV.
