  1. Has anyone noticed an increase in "mosquito noise" digital distortion around the L3s? I have noticed it the past month or so. It's also pretty bad around the 6ABC logo/clock in the corner. I have Directv, and posted in a forum about that, and someone said it has to do with the way the network encodes/compresses its broadcasts. Interestingly, I put on Action News at 10 on PHL17 last night, and the effect seems to be much less there than on 6. Which doesn't really make much sense since it's the same newscast and I would assume the same equipment being used!
  2. Missed that! What was the report about? Maybe it's up online already.
  3. Adam Joseph returned today ... I've missed his forecasts!
  4. I noticed that, too, and they started to say "AccuWeather" on the air, never really did that before.
  5. Sara Haines still makes it almost unwatchable.
  6. Any word on when they might move to the new studio at the PPL Center?
  7. I'm really growing tired of the graphics package. I kind of expected them to make some tweaks by now. It's been more than 3 (or 4?) years with the same package.
  8. Elizabeth Vargas filled in on GMA Weekend today. It was interesting seeing her with the ever-more-annoying Sarah Haines, but I liked it because she brought some "maturity" to the cast if that makes any sense.
  9. I didn't realize she'd even returned from her second leave of absence! What an unexpected sight to see her anchoring WNT. But it was welcoming, too!
  10. Yeah, he responded to me too! He thought it was funny!
  11. I tweeted at him, too!
  12. They've been really into the "digital updates" on the 6ABC app lately. Even for mundane things like "Christmas week forecast." They must get a lot of traffic. Not that I put much faith in this, but someone posted a comment on a picture Matt O'Donnell posted today saying David Murphy is retiring on January 2nd??? I find that hard to believe??
  13. Sarah Bloomquist was listed in the Sunday 11 pm opening tonight...
  14. I like Facecast so far - just watched today's. I didn't see the first two. It's a neat concept.
  15. I noticed that too. Very strange...
  16. Oh, and now it's back to the other one. Maybe it was just a shot since they were talking about the pending snowpocalypse.
  17. The video wall appears to now be showing a feed from a camera showing the skyline. Trying to copy NBC10? It looks much more realistic than the one they were using.
  18. I've noticed that Sharrie now seems to have a bigger purpose on the 5pm show - and they cut to her now without an introduction or conversation, as if it was a 3-person team. However, she doesn't do as much as a regular anchor and she is not included in any of the voiceovers or end-of-the-show shots.
  19. Sharrie Williams is wearing glasses tonight, and the over head lights that you can see in the video wall were reflecting on them. First time I've ever seen someone wear glasses that did that.
  20. Anyone else notice a slight graphics change? Some of the "pixelated" mosaic-looking things are gone and replaced with more solid red, white, and blue.
  21. Who was the new reporter using the Big Board? I thought WFMZ was pretty thorough. They had at least 3 reporters up there.
  22. Wow! I can't believe that! I wonder where she is going - I always liked her bubbly personality. She doesn't do hard news, but her reporting is still good. And I wonder who will do Saving with 6ABC now?
  23. Exactly, nothing really interesting will happen to warrant national coverage.
  24. I personally feel like the fluff has been WAY toned down since David Muir took over.
  25. I really find myself tuning in a lot more often than when Diane anchored. Having Dr. Richard Besser, who used to work for the CDC, made their Ebola coverage a lot more authentic-feeling. They got #1 in the ratings recently, but then the most recent week NBC over took them. But it was SUCH a small margin.
