No I meant stations like WEWS and WXYZ not anything they got in the Journal merger... The Journal stations are an unknown for graphics at this point.

I know it's already on a few... But they are obviously still doing something with it (like installing new equipment) that means some of them don't have it yet...

Since they are rebuilding all the existing graphics first and they only started that in the fall I would say be patient grasshopper...

Well The NOW got new coming up lower thirds when they get ready to cut to a commercial: Also a new sponsor bumper template: And finally some weather stuff:

It looks a hell of a lot like it... Same shape for the same red bar, same First Alert lettering in the same spot. The Weather font is thinner and the station logo is different obviously but it's pretty darn the same.

I haven't seen a female sportscaster I've been really impressed with yet...

Matt Piacente is in as News Director coming over from the NBC owned station in Hartford. He spent time at 5, 7 and 9 in his previous 20 year stint in Chicago.

There's a certain bizarre nature of a station in the #3 market without a midday newscast of some sort...

Stations say only on and first on all the time even if another station has it... It's not a big deal apparently.

That would work better though I would kick Glenda to weekends and put Malcolm on the 5 with Purtan. Glenda is awful at reading copy.

The copy calls it "Action News At 5". The teaser banners say "New at 5" and "New at 530". Every open says "You're watching 7 Action News, Always taking action for you". So while WJBK and WDIV use two anchor teams during the 5pm hour and brand as two distinct half hours with times in their opens, Channel 7 has elected not to do that despite the recent changes to that hour. Even 10+ years ago when they had times in their opens the 530 one said "7 Action News At 5"... They implemented this new anchor lineup last June by the way... This is the first time Channel 7 has tried two different anchor teams for 5 and 530. It's also the only hour in Detroit TV with only black anchors. It's also arguably one of the weakest newscasts Channel 7 has... It's a shame because this was their powerhouse hour for almost 25 years...

5pm is Carolyn Clifford and Glenda Lewis 530pm is Glenda and Curtis Jackson. Dave Manney is a decent News Director and an atrocious scheduler...

Of the two Carr is most likely to land elsewhere in town...

Depending on who else they cut DIV or XYZ might pick the other 2 talents up, nobody else there was close to Feldmans age...

It's been seen every year since god knows when... At least the cars are new...

Probably because doing something local is smarter business than not...

Part of 7's problem is that they are too high on themselves...
