I think it's time to change the Scripps LIVE bug to a more traditional location don't you? Change occurred yesterday or today. Not bad.. flexibility is cool...

Ameera David is joining WXYZ in Detroit as an Anchor/Reporter. She came over from RT where she anchored and reported. She's a Detroit native so that's why the downward move.

WXYZ Meteorologist Chris Edwards is stepping down to fill in status. He joined the station in 2010 and had been at WJBK for 21 years before that. He had spent most of his tenure doing Weekend Mornings and Monday-Tuesday-Friday at Noon.

Automation... a sobering thought to get you into an ever more automated new year...

Today in eye-rolling Scripps land: How not to use an ad in a weather forecast... it's down there in the corner next to the bug the whole weathercast, even covering the radar... so far it's isolated to their 10pm on WMYD. That bug is so big it covers the bottom of the last two days on their 10-Day forecast too. Incidentally the weather logo at the top STILL has the glossy abc logo and is a very fuzzy 720p like the old Scripps package. They say little things (like paying attention) go a long way to making things better...

WXYZ's Assistant ND is out after 6 years. He was with WDIV for 8 years before that. Their new News Director has created a lot of turnover there. They are still in second and the housecleaning is much needed.

His facebook and twitter were posting until the 26th with no mention of my last day or anything... makes me wonder if he was shown the door...
