Former WJBK reporter and "Crime Watch Daily" host Andrea Isom is joining WXYZ in Detroit as an Investigative Reporter... this gives them 5 reporters for that beat...

When the weather outside is slow and you fumble your initial delivery why not try again? It takes a minute to get going because I don't have any way to edit it down but all the good stuff is in the first maybe 2 minutes or so... something fun for after sweeps and to brighten up an otherwise sunny forecast...

I just have a thing about text hanging out with no animations... the regular ones they use now have a blue line and flash effect... I hope that one from last night was just an aberration....

At least that had the flashy thing below the name... there's nothing to the current ones...

The spiffed up cable access level talent names are pretty ugly hanging above the graphic... good for 1990... kind of dumb in 2017...

WXYZ's new Breaking News Open... they had a couple technical glitches unfortunately in their open... late to the live hit and the OTS that blanked out...

Look mom! No ABC logo cluttering up the circle 7... they just debuted this nifty background... I forgot how nice it looks without it...

I apologize in advance for any quality issues or background noises but it's going to have to do... 11pm Open: 11pm Transition to break: One thing that's interesting is that they use different music for their 11pm... it's still Inergy but not a cut I've heard before...

If she's this dry then not so much... see if you can spot the glaring mistake she makes in announcing the warning: [MEDIA=vimeo]153974288[/MEDIA] This was her submission to Best Weathercaster for IBA... that and she drones on a bit too long for my liking on a morning show... morning weather shouldn't take 4+ minutes...

Almost completely new... they added times and such along with a city scape and angled "Live" transition within the open... it shows the original logo angling at the viewer when the VO says "7 Action News"... at some point in the future I will post them but right now I'm not in a position to hook everything up and get a good video...

When WXYZ got them it was shortly before they went to Viz and they got new opens too.

No, I just like not seeing the chairs and legs at the ends... it looks crammed in there and uncomfortable...

A couple of 32 related items in todays Feder article: It seems 32 is having its reporters engage in opinion driven and speculative click bait on stories using Facebook Live as a platform. FedEx is highly critical of this. Secondly two new reporters are in: Dakarai Turner, a former intern at the station is in as a General Assignment Reporter. He was most recently a Reporter with Scripps owned WMAR in Baltimore. Michele Fiore is in on a freelance basis as a Reporter. She's currently working for All News 780 WBBM-AM and 105.9 WCFS-FM in Chicago. At one time she was at CLTV and her most recent TV gig was at Scripps owned WTMJ in Milwaukee.

Greetings from market 12 er... 212.... a Police Officer was shot in Detroit around 11 tonight. WXYZ now has an hour long 11pm on Sunday and they were doing a live report at 1158 on the story and mid sentence the reporter was cut off and they dumped right into commercials since it was automatically scheduled to end. How wonderfully embarrassing. One would hope there are ways to override the automation in the event they have to run longer. One would be wrong it would seem...

...if you know how to use it. Like Wikipedia it can be a STARTING POINT...

Professionalism is being pissed off at the annoying people calling the newsroom but not showing it... not writing it in your FAQ and making it obvious.... but as newsrooms decline so does the talent level across the board, then nobody cares and the spiral continues...
