  1. She has had a rough history... not sure how to feel about her running a station...
  2. That ladies and gentlemen is a burn...
  3. Silly question: Was WNT ever aired live at 7pm est pre 9/11 or would that have been an affiliate decision to air it at that time and have an local hour at 6pm?
  4. Wouldn’t watching the 5pm news be source enough?
  5. She’s pretty awful... something about her delivery is off...
  6. Quality is right where it should be.
  7. Anybody know if Santia has anchored at all?
  8. Supposedly someone at WNBC is looking to move to a lead anchor position at WXYZ in Detroit, Marc Santia (formerly of WDIV) is being talked about most...
  9. Is there a correct side?
  10. Or the guy found one and decided it was classy...
  11. When you drive a bus and have this as a hobby you are quite secure in your industry thanks...... if it dies than nobody needs to get anywhere and the couch potato culture has reached its apex...
  12. WXYZ’s weekend co-anchor Breanne Palmerini is leaving to take a main anchor role in a smaller market. Sports reporter Kacie Hollins is looking elsewhere. This will leave WXYZ with only 4 real anchors for the whole station. But hey... Scripps isn’t in serious trouble... no sir...
  13. A foot of makeup...
  14. Maybe the last one out the door should just turn out the lights already?
  15. Maybe those long awaited talent opens will appear?
  16. Scripps quality lives on...
  17. Looks like 7 flipped on a new antenna atop the Willis Tower last week... towards the bottom of this Feder article... supposedly the signal is crisper and clearer OTA... http://www.robertfeder.com/2018/04/10/robservations-chess-records-remote-fulfills-dream-dave-hoekstra/
  18. If they stick with those then I can live with them... they aren’t bad at all...
  19. So DMA rank determines whether anything is happening? One could argue that smaller markets with less revenue are more unstable... there is far more happening than you think. Don’t place much stock in DMA ranks... it’s not ranked by anything but population...
  20. Scripps and by extension management at WXYZ is a slimy group of people... they kept this guy on their air despite knowing about his sexually harassing coworkers in grotesque ways... their HR even reportedly asked “how do you know it’s his?” in response to his sexting female colleagues pictures of his genitals... eeek this is a pretty good article about how not to handle sexual harassment allegations these days... https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/wayne/2018/03/31/malcolm-maddox-sexting-wxyz/468202002/
  21. For the first time in 10+ years we are getting the story intro then “Good evening I’m blank in for blank and I’m blank...” refreshingly old school and beats the hell out of “first at 11” as an opening line...
  22. WXYZ is having quite a rough anchor situation: Morning Anchor Malcom Maddox has been fired for sexual harassment. No replacement named. Morning Meteorologist Keenan Smith has been filling in. Lead anchor Stephen Clark retired to go to Nashville to do country music and suddenly is going to 104.3 WOMC the number one radio station in Detroit to host their morning show. No replacement named. Noon and 4pm anchor JoAnne Purtan was laid off in the Scripps cuts after 20 years there. And 6/7/11pm anchor Carolyn Clifford is out for surgery. So no morning co-anchor, no noon anchor and no regular 6/7/11pm anchors at the circle 7 right now...
  23. Is it a different show there? I’d love to see the WPBF version... maybe it’s actually interesting...
  24. How does a random catch all thread have a topic?
  25. Neither of those groups has much hope... both are big but both have previous financial difficulties... now you are in Greyhound territory... how many bankruptcies can we squeeze out of this thing?
