Waynesville, GA is right behind as of this they would have zero ABC service of any sort.

According to Zap2it, Waynesville's Comcast system carries NBC from Jacksonville and CBS/Fox/ABC from Savannah. Plus, the system apparently goes only up to Channel 61, so it's a system Comcast never upgraded.

  2. Back to WOIO’s woes. From relegating Jeff Tanchak to mornings, to firing or forcing out almost every anchor and reporter worth a damn, WOIO is definitely a shell of its former self, all because Raycom wanted to “borg” WOIO into one of its stations, which itself isn’t bad. The problem is that the product was so dumbed down that WOIO now feels bush-league compared to the others. The set is nice and the graphics are nice, but WOIO doesn’t have the “faces” to be competitive, with Chris Tanaka needing a Red Bull and Tiffani Tucker STILL trying to be “Great Value Romona Robinson”.

I'm actually pretty happy to see them do something with WUAB on the weekends, but their repo of the Gaylord-era 43 logo kinda hits the uncanny valley, ngl

    Ewww!

On a more serious note, it’s replacing 4 episodes of Family Feud, so WUAB isn’t losing much.

And that’s another thing! What is it with ex-Raycom stations and crappy syndication lineups?!?

And Pittsburgh's CBS 2 (KDKA) is adding more news to its lineup. KDKA will add a 7:30pm half-hour newscast to its current 7pm news that will now run from 7-8pm. The station will have Megan Schiller the 7pm half-hour newscast that will replace the nationally syndicated show EXTRA with Billy Bush. KDKA's expanded news is set to launch August 17th.

That leaves Dr. Phil as the only syndicated show in KDKA’s lineup.

  5. My guess is that the next few months, KYES will operate the old KTVA news department until Gray likely transitions to “Alaska News Now”.

That being said, it does leave Anchorage with one news department left and no, I don’t count KYUR because that news department has been gutted like a fish this past decade.

It would be a shame of WOIO dumped those graphics this soon.  It's the best package they've had since the days of 19 Action News.  Nothing in Gray's current graphics portfolio would be nearly as good as the current gfx on WOIO.

I’d say the WAVE package comes close. However, that seems to be more of a “Limerick 2.0” package planned for ex-Raycom stations so even that might be mutilated mid-cycle under Gray.

FTVLive decreed that WKBN meteorologist Alexis Walters was making the jump from weather to primary anchor, and that such a move was something he had never heard of.

    Ummm......Stan Boney?

Not only did he make the move from Chief Met to primary anchor at WYTV, he moved across the hall to WKBN to be an anchor there.

Hell, WKYC did a similar thing with Betsy Kling being 5pm anchor WHILE doing weather at 6, 7, and 11.

New M&A from Gray. And we're going back to Hawaii.

Gray is acquiring the Telemundo affiliate KSIX-TV from Mauna Kea Broadcasting for $1M.

We all know what Gray has in the Islands. Honolulu's KGMB (CBS) & KHNL (NBC). And KHNL satellite's KFVE (formerly KHBC) Hilo and KOGG in Wailuku.

KSIX's signal primarily serves the western sections of the Big Island. Gray is saying the station's signal doesn't overlap with their Honolulu station or KFVE, which that serves the eastern part of the big island.

Here's the contours of both KFVE & KSIX signals in the Big Island.

It’ll likely get approved! However, Telemundo will be dropped on the Big Island.

I liked SSK, but I think one of the biggest problems the show had was its identity crisis, undergoing 3 name changes in less than a year after it debuted. I know the show had a small but loyal audience. I like the harder approach but I'm sure some are going to miss the "fun" element that SSK had.

That was the problem in a nutshell. ABC didn't really know what to do with the show and whether it wanted to be a part of the "GMA" brand. It'll be interesting as to ABC's plans in the fall for the 1pm timeslot, but I honestly hope they keep the current "GMA3" format.

Somehow we missed this one. WGBA now has the graphics and I actually like the fact they incorporated the NBC chimes into the music pkg.

Looks like WGBA went the WTXL route and went without a voiceover this time.

I noticed NBC CT started a weekly kids show? Any other NBC O&O doing this?

Seems like a great idea during this time and looks very well done, 2 episodes are on their YouTube page, the guide says it airs Fridays at 11:30.

I know that WOIO (yes I know its not an O&O) has been doing streaming a "story time" and a "weather school" weekdays in the 10am hour. Also in partnership with Cleveland Metropolitan School District, WUAB airs content for the kids weekdays at 9-10am on TV.

That's the part I'm trying to figure out because so many stations have been adding newscasts left and right lately and the majority being temporary that I won't know if its permanent until the pandemic is over.

Or stations have been replacing local infotainment shows with newscasts. I know WOIO has dropped Cribbs in the CLE and Sunny Side Up for a traditional 9am newscast. The only brightside to this virus is that it has made WKYC's newscasts more watchable with them focusing on the news.

  13. To tie this in, I'm praying that WEWS can make this package look much better. The Cleveland stations (with an obvious exception to WOIO) tend to punch at the weight class, so let's see what the graphics weasels at "LottoBall 5" can cook up.
