I think it's only fair that even the higher ups work some holidays/occasions. I'm sure the A-team gets first dibs on what days to take off, but most of the ABC 7 anchors doesn't strike me as the kind of people that don't take one for the team. Anyone remember when Kathy Brock anchored Christmas morning the last time it was on a Sunday, just so Ben Bradley could be home with his new baby? Ron always volunteers to work on Thanksgiving, and Linda Yu usually picks up a holiday or two this time of year. And when you have occasions like Christmas and New Years that tend to be 2-day ordeals, everyone can have a chance to celebrate with their loved ones.

As time passes, I think Phil will be let go. So Troy should take weekend evenings and become an official employee, while Cheryl is doing weekend mornings, as well as working behind the scenes with the weather team during the week, just as Troy does.

WGN morning news does a lot of funny stuff, but I found this hilarious. And, it proves the "B-Team" can do great comedy too!

Yeah, I'm really warming up to him, too. He was a little stiff when he first joined the station last year, but has improved in his delivery and demeanor since then.

Now that he's been here a year, they should really make him an "official employee" of ABC. He has a good future here. They could easily be trying him out while Phil is off for these few weeks. With Cheryl Scott expected to join the team, you can tell they're going on the younger side.

If he didn't give any specific explanation, I suppose he wants to keep it private but didn't want folks to worry about him. Pretty good of him to even post that really.

On Monday, Phil Schwarz posted that he's not going to be on ABC 7 for a few days. It's not clearly stated why, but I was wondering if anyone has seen anything

As we discussed in October, the other weather personalities should be pretty pissed about this decision. ESPECIALLY CAPLAN!!! He's much better than her, he deserves to be called "chief."

I liked Mark and Dina together when they did the 4 & 9 earlier this week. Maybe this could be a start of something?
