  1. My opinion: We all saw this day coming, even though they said it wouldn't. Mike caplan is one of the best, not only at WLS, but in Chicago (next to skilling, of course) I'm guessing he's around 50-55 years old so he doesn't have a lot of his career left. His prime is over. It would be nice to see him on WGN Midday News and giving Tom the Evening at 9pm news. I wish nothing but the best for Mike, and nothing but the worst for WLS because they had it coming when they first got rid of Sylvia Perez.

  2. I thought the goal was to have Demetrius eventually take over for Skilling, especially considering that as long as Tom's health holds up, he'll probably keep doing his job until he no longer can. By that point, Demetrius should be seasoned enough to take over, especially if Tom keeps working for another 5-10 years.

If WFLD was my only option, I'd be on the next flight out of town.

Skilling will die in his weather center.
  3. Interesting thing about the ABC 7 Weather Dept. Promo: Cheryl Scott is included in the weather team while Troy is not. This tells me that although her current title is "Fill-in," She's not so fill-in (freelance) after all. She is really trying though. She has been delivering a pretty solid forecast and you can tell she's really trying to interact with her new anchor team.

Troy won't be included because he is not an employee of ABC, he is per diem. If you recall, Mark Bishop was never included with the promos either.
  4. Did anyone happen to catch ABC 7 EWN at 4/5, or 6 to see if C. Scott made her debut? Just curious that's all.

There was no 4, 5, or 6pm newscast. The 10pm newscast just started and it's just Ron, Jerry on weather, and TBA on sports. On a personal note, merry christmas to everyone!
