    But wouldn't Gannett buy the Fort-Worth Star Telegram or the Texas Tribune?

    In that case, wouldn't Gannett, the publising arm, acquire the Washington Post after the split?

    I haven't seen that yet, but if it does say that WUSA is owned by "Detroit Free Press Inc", it'll have to change into being owned by "Tegna Inc." or "Tegna Company", or something like those.

    Hubbard Broadcasting for example (except for KSTP and it's satellites and KSTC which can all go to Meridith), could net them markets in New Mexico, Duluth, MN/Superior, WI, Albany, and a return to the Rochester market if they buy said company. They could also buy Griffin Communications which could net them the OKC and Tulsa markets as well as KFMB in San Diego if they wanted to.

    It'll also allow for full ownership of KGW and WHAS because they won't be bound under cross-ownership restrictions Gannett is under right now as well as allowing the purchase of the Fort-Worth Star Telegram and the Texas Tribune, especially for the former because it's within (and near the center of) WFAA's viewing area which for right now, bars Gannett from purchasing said newspaper.

    There's another thing that hit me. Upon the split of Gannett's broadcasting arm into Tegna, will the stations' websites be altered in any way aside from changing from "A Gannett Company" to "A Tegna Company" at some point within a year from then?

    I noticed that WZZM's holdings company is Combined Communications of Oklahoma and it hit me. Wouldn't it make sense if Gannett/Tegna bought Griffin Communications in Oklahoma (which has KWTV and KSBI in Oklahoma City as well as KOTV and KQCW in Tulsa)?

    And 2 months ago, this would be the definition of Tegna. I'm not even sure if they knew Tegna is a place in Switzerland before deciding on the name.

    Here's a possible logo for Tegna from http://www.newscaststudio.com/2015/04/22/is-this-the-tegna-logo/ : If the name Tegna doesn't explain how it's a nod to the 100 years of Gannett, this logo might.

    My point is that even though they aren't in Texas, First Coast News, and 12 News (KPNX) use the same cut that WFAA, KHOU, and KBMT use. Also, I'd rather KVUE have the authoritative cut WFAA uses for its open since KVUE is in Texas' capital city and said cut fits there better than in the metroplex.

    KENS uses it too to a somewhat lesser extent, but KVUE uses the same cut most of the London stations use then the same cut you mentioned.

    Or use the USA Today logo as a remnant of the soon to be former owners of the media arm and make "Tegna" the same font used on said logo.

    So when is KIII transitioning into the new graphics if it still hasn't already?

    And HotHaus are same guys who made the last Belo graphics before Belo was bought by Gannett.

    WFMY seems to be the only other Gannett station that has the HD in their logo.

    I think KIII will still brand itself as 3 News but with the ABC logo next to it. Also, is there anyone with the new KYTX open that has the Gannett graphics?

    I wonder if KCEN/KAGS are gonna change their logos like some guy said towards the bottom of this thread.
