That cut (I'm sure it has a name, but I call it Cut B, found at :53 on NMSA) is used frequently on non-clustered stations in markets 25-50, with KREM being the exception -- no clue why they aren't using the KING cluster music (or why they haven't updated their horrendous weather graphics). Some of the other stations that have a primary evening cut use this as their early edition theme (see WTSP).

I've heard some stations use that cut, but I was talking about the one that appears on a video on this website called "This is Home - News/Vocal" at :06 and 1:30 which I have yet to hear on any Gannett station.

I can't speak for the other stations, but I'm using a cut that none of the other gannett stations use. I'm honestly really surprised this cut hasn't been used before.

There's a video here called "This is Home - News/Vocal" which has a cut that appears twice. I have yet to hear that one on any Gannett station but I'm not sure if that's the same cut that you're referring to that hasn't been used before. If not, can you please send in a video of or a link to it if you have either?

Latest on the Lone Star Group:

Launch dates are tentative at this point, and it really just comes down to how we end up building these graphic templates in Chyron.

Also, we will not have a rundown on screen like the rest of the Gannett stations.

    KYTX: March 16

KCEN/KAGS: March 21 (This is a Saturday for some reason, I'm not sure why)

    KBMT: April 13

    KIII: April 15

    KIDY/KXVA: April 20

As for websites, I'm not sure about the other stations, but KIDY/KXVA is stuck with World Now until January 2016.

Have there been any promos that showcase the This is Home graphics for any of the Lone Star stations, or at least for KYTX and KCEN/KAGS since they're going to have them first?

If it were me, all of the Lone Star stations (both ex-Belo and ex-London) should use the version WFAA is using.

I'd say that they should use that version for the NIghtbeat broadcasts. For the normal broadcasts (if not even the ones I suggested), they should use this version KVUE uses:
this one that News10 Sacremento and 12 News (azcentral) use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQGqc5FX9y4 or this version that KSDK and WBIR use (minus the NBC chimes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYu5dDrUrWE

Special broadcasts and breaking news opens should use this version:

And as for their (or at least most of their) music cuts here's which ones I think they should have:

    morning opens:

    noon and 4 p.m. opens

    5 p.m.-6 p.m. opens:

    (10 seconds into the video)

10 p.m. (nightbeat) opens and most of their promos:

    (14 seconds into the video)

    Or

They might have different cuts than my suggestions, but it's their decisions on what cuts they'll implement on their stations.

I'm assuming they'll adopt the "This Is Home" package when they launch the updated graphics (but without the rundown) on the listed dates.

And to bring the discussion full circle, that will be an important thought as G3 has to incorporate those strict Fox standards into their first FOX affiliates, KXVA and KIDY.

And they will, probably by incorperating the FOX Abilene and FOX San Angelo brandings and their current logos into their updated graphics. Only thing is, what about their website? Will it still have the domain "www.myfoxzone.com", but with the look of the USA Today website?
  7.

Actually this is the logo that KSDK uses for their bug. It's pretty stupid because they also use that branding for non-news programs too. I'd love for them to go back to only the "5" for their logo.

    KSDK_GannettLogo.jpg

Still, the logo based on that (the 5 logo) has been used in some form since 1993 and I think it needs an update or at least a change in branding from "NewsChannel 5".

You know what the most annoying thing about this new change is.... The whole reason they made the change is because people who still have SD we're seeing cut off graphics and were throwing a fit. So finally, they at least move the time and temp to fit inside the 4:3 safe margin, and leave enough room for at least a small affiliate logo (abc, nbc). I hate how wcnc has the nbc logo on the right side of the box instead of having it in the left where at least someone who watches in SD would see the NBC logo. Sorry. Just a rant.

Have they updated or changed any of the stations' logos to go along with the new change?
