Any word on what happened to the T.D. Jakes Show and whether it was successful or not?

And WFLD sinking so low that it's drowning is because Fox still had its news operation as "Fox News Chicago" by 2006 (when it got the Fox O&O V1 graphics and it didn't rebrand back into Fox 32 until a few years ago with the arrival of the Fox O&O V3 graphics), which may have confused many people in Chicagoland into thinking it's Fox News in Chicago even though Fox O&O Stations and FNC are two completely different subsidiaries of Fox, and thus causing even less people to watch it. And it's still harboring the repercussions that it suffered from the "Fox News Chicago" era.

KNSD is owned and operated by the network that advocates recycling, and ironically, they don't seem to recycle their worn mics. Someone should point that out to NBCUniversal.LOL. At least they're not as bad as KNSD's which are literally falling apart, yet they keep using them/showing them on air. Go figure. They should do the KUSI treatment... use duct tape to hold the mic flag together.- 2

Scripps does it with some of their ABC stations, (WMAR ABC 2, KNXV ABC 15, and KGTV ABC 10 for example).I always hated the 2001 WFMY logo (the current one), but the new one makes it look like an O&O...is this a new trend from Tegna? Taking a page from Meredith? -
If Hearst was going to buy any more stations, my best bet would be that they'd buy every station from Graham Media Group (except WKMG, which is in a market where Hearst owns a duopoly, which they could divest the station to Tegna). They have solid news departments and, in the case of KSAT 12, WDIV, and WJXT, are even news leaders, so Hearst buying them would be an investment that would be worthwhile and bring even more revenue because of how well Graham's stations (which would be Hearst's when they buy them) are doing.
-
Why not add WJW to the duopoly picture? Where did the Indians telecast go? Back in the day this station along with a slew of stations had the games telecast? Did they get too expensive for stations to pay for? Indians, Cavs game would do great for WUAB. It seems that when 19/43 merge 43 was always the big dog, but when CBS move to 19 they totally forgot about 43 and poured all their resources into 19 instead of 43.
If Tribune buys WBNX they could simply change the call letters to WGNX (a nod to the old WGNX which is now WGCL) and it's possible they could get the Indians telecast on WGNX.

KTBC I think provides certain support services to KDFW and KRIV, particularly Texas government coverage.
You mean like how the other three networks do with their stations in California?

KTVT has the rights to Cowboys preseason games in Dallas, and KEYE has them in Austin (but on tape delay on this occasion, probably because they had to carry the network game).
A look at the Cowboys network roster shows that it has quite a few Nexstar and Sinclair stations. Perhaps the contract dates to the Four Points days? If not, Sinclair stations in San Antonio, OKC and Beaumont do have the rights to the Cowboys.
There are a decent number of group deals with preseason games. The Falcons preseason network is composed in its majority in Raycom-owned Fox stations. The Quincy Wisconsin system holds the rights to the Packers in four markets. The Chiefs 65TPT network has a substantial chunk of Nexstar stations.
And, of course, a substantial proportion of NFL preseason broadcasters do not have regular season rights to the teams. There are a number of ABC, CW and independent stations, as well as NBC affiliates. The Cardinals network is KNXV-KWBA-KVVU, for instance (and I expect that at the next contract renewal Scripps obtains Cards rights for KTNV).
But what's the point of Fox still keeping KTBC to this day if they aren't in one of the Top 10 DMAs, aren't a legacy Fox station (They were with NW Communications before going to Fox), and aren't going to air Cowboys or Texans games, especially the former?
-
I don't understand why Fox didn't sell KTBC to Local TV back in 2007. They don't air either Cowboys or Texans games and for some reason Fox still keeps it, but why?

I'd like to see DART try the "Transit TV" with original content plus content from NBC (with local news from KXAS and KXTX, and clips from NBC and Telemundo, among other NBCU properties). BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit, not Bart Simpson) should try it out too (also with content from NBC, via KNTV and KSTS).Sounds similar to the Los Angeles Metro bus system did for many years up until about a couple of years ago...most buses had "Transit TV", which had its own original content (quizzes, PSAs, health and money tips, viral videos), plus content from NBC (local news from KNBC and KVEA, and various video clips from NBC, Telemundo, and other NBCU properties). Even though I could ever rarely hear whatever was displayed on the monitors, it at least would sometimes make an otherwise mundane, crowded bus ride a bit more interesting.
As far as a guess for a local news partner for San Diego MTS, I think that KNSD would be a good content partner, especially given KNSD (using the L.A. Metro/Transit TV-NBCU partnership example above), has other content within the NBCU family to draw from, unlike the other local stations in town and their parent companies (maybe KSWB and Tribune is the only possible exception I could think of).

I can't see 22 the Point! being a radio station slogan, but the exclamation point does make it look exciting. It's almost always a good thing when a station dumps the MyTV branding, but 22 the Point! sounds more like a radio station to me.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned this but Crime Watch Daily is coming this September to all the Tribune stations across America.

I think Tegna should expand the Justice Network reach to the LSB stations, as well as buy Griffin Communications and/or Hubbard Broadcasting (except for KSTC, KSTP, KSTP's satellites, and its radio stations in Minneapolis, which though I said they should go to Meredith, they should really go to Cox Media) after they take ownership of KGW, WHAS, and KMSB.

Not to mention that the last time they had Fox affiliates was in 1995 before KNXV and WFTS switched over to ABC.Funny how they don't mention that said station was WCPO. (KENS is borderline, but I imagine it "doesn't count" because Scripps never held operational control over it) -

What about Atlanta or Rochester?Could they move to Cleveland or Denver? I'd say Dallas, but they sold off the Belo tower.- 1

Then what's the point of keeping WWJ if they aren't going to invest in a news department for it?With CBS being in cost-cutting mode as of late, I don't see them investing in a TV news department for WWJ/WKBD anytime soon. -
I still think it's a good idea for CBS to invest in a full-time news department for CBS 62. In fact it might actually raise 62's ratings. No bureau here that I know of... JBK, XYZ and DIV are all so established that trying would be very very hard... 62 pretty darn low rated anyways...
-
I think CBS has enough money to spend to make a full time news department for WWJ. Besides even WJZ (the smallest CBS O&O by market size) has a full-time news department and I bet CBS News has a bureau in Detroit.I don't think they want to spend the money... They certainly could but it's all pretty entrenched with the 3 we have. -
Is it just me, or does anyone else think that CBS 62 still needs a full-time news department?

They made subchannels to rebroadcast each other, both on their .2 channelsNow that they have switched, does KWKT and KYLE really expand broadcast areas? Or will they made subchannels to rebroadcast each others like WFXR and WWCW did?

Also Tegna will be airing a talk show with TD Jakes as the host of it with WFAA, KARE 11, WKYC, and 11Alive as the test subjects and then to the rest of Tegna's stations if it proves successful.

Since Scripps now has ABC affiliates all around Arizona, they might as well launch AZCN (Arizona Cable News) without any trace of "The NOW" seeing as how much "The NOW" sucks because of it dragging down most of the Scripps stations that have it.
-
And WFAA could use an update similar to what KTVT did back in the late 90s with its logo at the time, but in such a way that it still has the 8 in the square, but with the "WFAA" and the "NEWS" portion of the logo as well as them having a different font or with lowercase letters and without the rectangular box that surrounds the two portions.Yes, alot of Gannett stations do need some new logos that have been around for several decades. However, W*USA, KTHV went to the bargin basement of logos. WXIA, KSDK, WUSA, KXTV WTLV/WJXX, WBIR could use a refresh logo makeover for those stations.
