  1. Hate to speculate but…Diagrid V.1 graphics came out in 2012. The refresh came out in 2018. Potential 2024 refresh based on the 6 year cycle?
  2. WKBT has had them for over a year. They debuted them when they debuted Ross Overdrive in 2022. It was a test to see if their VP of news actually liked this vision or if he wanted to switch back to the old look. (I worked there during this transition.)
  3. I heard this from a colleague who works at an NBC Gray affiliate. It's not an NBC thing. It's a "Gray" thing. Eventually all stations will be removing their affliliation from their logos. The reasoning is to distance the stations from the affiliates and to separate itself from the fake news movement that the national media gets. Basically it's so people trust the LOCAL news and to take on their own branding and identity.
  4. The Wyoming Cluster for one...
  5. It doesn't even look like they went with red on the WX graphics, but rather....gray? Hmmmmm.
  6. As someone who worked for a station bought by Coastal Television only to get terminated 2 weeks after the fact. LEAVE....NOW!!!!!!!!!!! They come in with all of these promises saying they will make the newsroom much better, invest in a lot of new equipment, provide better resources, the CEO (Bill Fielder) who is also a politician (if that gives you any idea as to what kind of person he is) will act like he is your best friend, has your interest at heart, then when he takes over he eliminates about 90% of the newsroom staff. He will offer you a severance of 1 weeks pay and an extra weeks pay if you sign paperwork promising not to discuss what happened. Spoiler alert, none of us did, and we all took to the competition and newspaper. This company makes Sinclair look like a 5 star company to work for. The guy who owns this is seriously scum. To those who work at KVRR and KQDS, get your resume and reel ready and be prepared to be on the chopping block if you do not leave immediately.
  7. Add another person retiring in May. https://www.news8000.com/news/local-news/chief-meteorologist-bill-graul-to-leave-wkbt-news-8-now-after-25-years/article_a706ef36-f056-11ed-aab1-f3f2d1e9be78.html
  8. The designer of the new graphics package at WRIC Just when you think it couldn't be any worse, I hop on Photoshop and say, "Hold My Beer." I better not speak too loud, knowing our luck, someone in Creative Services over there will hop on here, take one look at the old logo and be like "this is the sexiest thing I've ever seen! Why aren't we using that logo?" Next thing you know... TADA!!!!
  9. Why would WAVE, an NBC affiliate, use CBS Local?
  10. WAVE debuted their new logo on air today. They dropped the long time WAVE 3 branding for just “WAVE”. The graphics and music remain the same.
  11. Talk about going Retro! Looks like WAVE will be getting a new logo this year to commemorate their 75th Anniversary. From what I've been told, it'll debut on air early this year.
  12. WFIE may be close to switching. This popped up on social media the other day. On air, they are still using the Limerick Look. I guess any day now???
  13. I wonder if they will bring back the 6 News Branding
  14. Is it just me, or has WTHR executed the graphics a lot better than the original TEGNA stations? I can't point my finger on what looks/feels different about WTHR's L3's, etc. but I like it.
  15. So now that it's got FCC Approval, did I read this correct that the new owners have 90 days from April 7th to Consummate the sale?
  16. Being from Indiana and watching WTHR growing up, I can officially say this: If they drop the "Eyewitness News" Brand, BIG MISTAKE TEGNA
  17. Right now, this guy is probably sitting in his chair singing to it.
  18. Looks like on the website, WNEP is mixing the TEGNA with the Tribune graphics. It doesn't look bad if you ask me.
  19. Jesus...I mean at least they didn't do it "L8R"
  20. Someone's getting ready to get some Clapping & Chanting with CClarity!! (Look at the Weather Graphic in the middle!)
  21. They look like the same graphics package they've had for quite some time now.
  22. Depends. Either A) They could create a look and share it among stations provided they have the proper formats that both WSI and Baron use. HOWEVER: The weather team would have to build everything from scratch all over again (animations, frames, fonts, etc.) Or B) They can get WSI or Baron involved where they build everything in their shop, and send it to the respective stations where all they need to do is unzip it. I know one group, it was a little bit of both: Someone at the hub sent the design and style guide to Baron and WSI, they sent back the boxes/banners, etc. in the format they need, and they built it all there from the hub using the proper elements/style to send to their stations with their logo on it. If you were to watch a station out of this group, find one that uses Baron, and WSI, and the normal person couldn't tell a difference for the most part. (If you know what you're looking for, you can.)
  23. Not necessarily. Like WSI, if CBS sends the elements and Style Guide to Baron, they can re-create it at their shop, zip it up and drop that style (with guide) into their system. Then all the met has to do is swap out the old stuff for the new stuff.
  24. For WJZ to Transition with Baron Lynx, wouldn't be hard at all.
  25. Here is the article on their website about their logic and reasoning behind the package https://www.wave3.com/2019/11/22/who-are-artists-behind-wave-news-new-look/?fbclid=IwAR2SadbFPU10dANNocPjyjXwvHHvCvxI1z1mruysGRbD_xASv962jJccPH4
