I must admit I am one of those people. But I switch to SPIKE TV at 8pm on Saturday... to get my fix from COPS.

CBS radio has lopped off 300 heads in the last few weeks so that's usually not a sign of a group looking to aquire more stations. Granted the head of the KFMB radio stations just "retired" last week. Unless there is a real sweet offer on the table, I cannot see KFMB breaking off the radio side. The radio stations are NOT losing money by a longshot. They also run radio pretty lean. Just a wild guess.... The local CBS radio stations become part of KFMB?

I does look different, actually a bit like the "detail" was mushed back a bit. But I really don't know. I thought the orange tint was just me.

Notice the van had an internal "cage" built in. Same type cages the NYC stations use in the SUV's. The stuff stolen was sitting in the front where there was no cage. Van was also unmarked.

Let's play programming exec.... What would you do? The only stipulation is you cannot give back the hour to local. My decision would be to beg Baba to come back in a final "hail mary" attempt to milk that thing to the end of the big contracts. 3yr maximum. What would the rest of you do?

You already got the bodies to do the newscast, and you don't have to deal with Oprah. What will cost more? Tyra? News? How about an hour of...... Cat Videos!!!! (gunshot)

I know the network has knocked around the Idea of another hour of GMA. In the olden days when the nets paid the affiliates they had some say. Now all they can really do is bitch and moan. I'm strictly going on the boiler plate scenarios...and baba wawa is pretty savy so there may be some non-traditional contracts. You CAN be sure ABC will milk it to the bitter end to avoid the payouts.... because who the hell want's to see Whoopi "on the beach". KGTV has a slot at 7:30p.....gasp.

My understanding was that KGTV and KERO were both spared from "The Now" because of being on the west coast and unable to really meet the time constraints of the east/central time zone. But I bet we can all expect something lame..... Or What about another half hour of the award winning 10-News??? Seeing that some mucky muck report this week that there is growth in tv newscast at 4:30am and 7pm slots. Granted a .01% increase is still "growth". Nothing would surprise me.

Pretty sure ABC can cancel it anytime they want. True there are contractual obligations with the talent so ABC would probably have to eat the remainder of those contracts and pay them off.

Lets say WXYZ or another local news operation produced the newscast for WWJ/WKBD. How would you feel about that?

A lot of local affils are going this year. It's all because of the Jenner hype. Nobody seemed to care last year.
