Something has to be in the water there. You don't just pack up and leave on a whim, especially when you're that well respected. That station is a real trainwreck.

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion
AJClementeFan69 replied to Smitha A's topic in Corporate Chat
http://cunninghambroadcasting.com/about-us/ "Cunningham Broadcasting Corporation is an independent television broadcast company that, together with its subsidiaries, owns and/or operates 12 television stations in eleven markets across the United States. Cunningham, (formerly Glencairn, Ltd. prior to 2002) is a Maryland corporation and is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland." *wink* *nod* -
I think you can kiss pretty much any standalone CW/My station in a duopoly bye. You can easily cash in and put the affiliation on a subchannel and it's nothing but a paperwork shuffle to anyone but people like us. I'm sure plenty of Jesus stations will cash in...

Not if the company has its way. Although...didn't it fail in busting the union in Fresno?

So how long before the former MG stations get the stupid website names? Anyone know?

Who wants to guess the Pink Slip Express won't make a stop at WBFF, the company's baby? (though nothing would surprise me) -

Eh, Gray doesn't really belong there. They laid off a bunch at WDBJ. I would add Hearst...and there are a couple of the smaller ones that also seem pretty good. Cordillera, Hubbard, Morgan Murphy to name a few. You look at the stations (esp. the flagships) and how many longtimers are still at each... -

Such a disgusting company. Really seems like the place to be in this business is at one of the privately-owned family companies like Hearst, Cox, etc. that aren't chasing the biggest margin for their shareholders. -
Discovered composers & publishers of music themes

I have a feeling Star Trak was behind their 2001-09 theme though. The instrumentation is classic Star Trak. -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=crKszFENqZA;t=123 Anyone know who's responsible for these two themes of synthy 90s goodness from WLNE? I believe the first one ran concurrent with John Tesh's "Shock." -
I kinda like this. Has a retro vibe...WAY better than all the derivative crap passing as new logos now. (Or just horrible like WFXT). It looks like there was some actual thought put into this, which is refreshing.

Fortunately, the graphics have aged fairly well...

But we're not. What's good for Nexstar's shareholders and Perry Sook is not what's good for the industry, the people who work in it and the people it serves.

Maybe this is a superficial comparison...but the KNOE 1998 theme almost sounds Arnold-like. Reminds me of the WCSC custom theme... -

Weird that there's a clear sample of the WJLA theme on NMSA but no information about it... -

Anyone know who did the WJLA 1992 theme? A really underrated, very newsy early-90s tune (the close is especially good). Definitely fit DC. -
Al Sunshine retired in 2013. WFOR has Hank Tester (ex-TVJer) and Peter D'Oench (WSVN 78-82, WPLG 89-04) though. Then there's Michael Putney at PLG.

Wonder if this means additional investment in the KNPN operation. St. Joe has to be the smallest market in the country with two competing, independently-owned shops. What's the smallest with three? Marquette? (If you want to count WJMN as a full competing shop)

If you'd look into it more...you'd see it's because of how they've been treating their employees. Everyone is under a gag order...and they've been pushing to bust the unions at the union stations. FTVLive is regularly out in front of everyone I've found...and for free lol. I cancelled my N/B subscription and never looked back.

WPTZ is now branding as "NBC 5." Guessing the timing was meant to coincide with the Olympics. http://www.wptz.com/ Quite a few of their staff now have "My NBC 5" Twitter handles: https://twitter.com/WPTZ/lists/wptz-reporters-anchors

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=h3CDhmOgwls;t=34 Does anyone know who did the WCCO 1993 theme? IMO it had some aural similarities to the Michael Randall KCBS theme that replaced it... Other soundalikes: "Clearly to the Point" (OnTrack Productions) and the KCEN cuts of "Strong" (Peters Productions)
