1. A 4-part report on the 30th anniversary of Canal 13 in Buenos Aires, that aired in October 1990.
2. A short closer of Nuevediario in 1987, when it was the absolute leader in Argentinian TV news, reporting on memorable stories like the "house of ghosts" in La Plata or similar paranormal events: Don't forget the iconic Enoch Light music, that identified the program for almost a decade, and it's still remembered!
3. IIRC, NBC never fed its weekend newscasts at 6ET/5CT. Only CBS and ABC have done it.
4. I checked old listings from the early 1990s and ABC fed the weekend news (both Saturday and Sunday) earlier than on weeknights. I don't know why. Only a few stations carried it at 6 ET/5 CT back then.
5. First half of Telenoche from Friday, November 3, 1995, when a munition factory exploded in Río Tercero, Córdoba, killing several people. César Mascetti left the anchor desk for a night and traveled to the scene (687kms west of Buenos Aires) to report on the day's events.
6. From the same time (1995/1996), two promos of the newscast, shot on film:
7. Canal 13's promo of its evening newscast, showing how its team work behind the scenes to put it together.
8. As Jennifer Keyte prepares to return to Network Ten next Monday, here is some footage of her in 1986, anchoring a weekend update:
9. From Christmas 1994, Nuevediario summarizes on this opener the most important events of the year: Don't forget the Headline News graphics!
10. "El show de Videomatch" ends almost at midnight on a rarely warm night in June of 1998, as Canal 5 Rosario takes a small break from Telefe programming and shows us pictures from the third biggest city in Argentina (with music of local legend Fito Páez), and suddenly rejoins Telefe for a little bit of soccer action and "El equipo del mundial" from France.
11. A long closer for Canal 9's noon news from January 1996, anchored by Cristina Pérez (before moving to Telefe) and Guillermo Andino (before joining América 2). The guy who composed the theme (Luis Reales) was listed in the credits!
12. Here's a promo announcing the return of the early evening newscast in 2002: And the opener of the first night:
13. Yes, between April 1999 and August 2002, Telefe had only one daily newscast, and updates during daytime and primetime programming. The 7pm newscast (which used to be #1 on its timeslot, and sometimes was one of the 10 most-watched programs of the day) was canceled because of "political reasons".
14. A promo showing the worst times for Telefe's news division, back in 1999. With many familiar faces sacked on New Year's Eve 1998 and with only one newscast throughout the day (weekdays at noon), they relied on crime and tabloid features to recover credibility, but it failed.
15. In 1996, Telefe purchased the rights to air Beavis and Butthead late at night (weeknights at 12am), but I don't know why they decided to air small segments dubbed by local voice actors making fun of the Argentinian TV programming. Take a look!
16. From 1992: a bit of an episode of The Simpsons, Canal 5 Rosario's ID and a Friday night movie opener from Telefe in Buenos Aires (Canal 5 is now one of its owned and operated stations), with a remix of K-Jee (MFSB) as the background theme. The movie was "The Trial of the Incredible Hulk", that aired on NBC in 1989.
17. Telecinco's flashy news opener and top story from Friday, December 4, 1998
18. A montage of promos and IDs from Canal 13 in Buenos Aires that aired in July 1999. PD: the David Copperfield promo contains a bit of "Escaped Felon" by Danny Pelfrey and Rick Rhodes, inspired by Gari's music.
19. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Todo Noticias (TN), Argentina's leading news channel, I'm posting a montage of openers, promos, IDs and news updates that aired on Friday, August 5, 1994.
20. Graphic package (bumpers/IDs, etc.) used by Canal 13 in Argentina during most of 2013:
21. After almost 20 years away from the TV screens, Telefe's funny balls (which, in some way, help shaped this channel as family-oriented) have returned! It's been a great idea to bring these cute balls back!
22. Telefe's station ID and evening news rejoin, from November 1997.
23. Old radio commercials from Argentina: Radio 10 (AM710, 1999; before becoming Buenos Aires' leading AM station) Continental (AM590, 1997; still focused on news and talk)
24. Old KYW 1060 commercial from 1984.
25. A WLS news update from April 1980, anchored by Diane Allen (before returning to Philly in the mid-1980s)
