  1. I fixed it. Thanks for the correction.
  2. Well said. I'm guessing that Comcast wants to make MSNBC a full political channel (similar to Fox but in the other direction) and use this as a "Real News" alternative. If they were that concerned about Chris Jansing, she would be part of this "NBC News Daily". I also believe that many affiliates could also lose Kelly Clarkson to other stations as well (WPXI lost Kelly to WTAE for example). I wish they would have just given this spot back to the affiliates.
  3. I'm surprised they got rid of Days for more news, I guess there has been too many break ins with Special Reports (and to compete with GMA3) that NBC just said ok, we will do this. I also wonder if this means we will see more local newscasts on some affiliates as well at 3 PM ET.
  4. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2022/7/31/gone-in-altoona Matt Alvarez is gone from WTAJ Altoona and former WUSA Meteorologist Howard Bernstein will be the new main anchor on August 22nd. Big market drop for Bernstein.
  5. WJAC's Tim Rigby is retiring on August 4th. https://wjactv.com/news/local/wjac-tv-anchor-tim-rigby-announces-retirement
  6. The CW logo need to be gold along with the rest of the package (that is my only complaint). KDKA-TV'S balck and gold look has grown on me and I still hope when the new CBS O&O package launches, that they keep it.
  7. For now. WPCW (KDKA-TV's sister station) still has the 2020 KDKA look. Thank goodness.
  8. Look who joined the rest of the country in airing the January 6th committee hearing today. Hi NewsNation.
  9. Yes. In 2009, it was a massive failure.
  10. There is no way this would last on CW/My stations owned by CBS with CBS O&Os with actual news departments. Do they really want to go the same route that Sinclair did with News Central. I don't want to see another WPGH situation again.
  11. Nexstar could buy them as Mission Broadcasting stations. Scripps is also against the cap. My point was that if TEGNA became Standard, Cox merged with Standard, and then Hearst merged with Cox. Orlando (and many other places) will have new owners with an O&O or someone like Allen or someone else expanding their reach to fill in the gaps.
  12. I forgot about that. I fixed it with Nexstar. I had ONE misstep and you want to jump down my throat on it. Hearst's graphics hub can be moved to another station if needed. I'm sure WBAL-TV would want it.
  13. If Hearst and Cox merge, The biggest Conflicts would be Pittsburgh (WTAE over WPXI) , Boston (WCVB over WFXT [Fox could get this station back]), and Orlando (WFTV/WRDQ over WESH/WKCF) WPXI screams Nexstar. WFXT goes back to FOX WESH/WKCF also goes to Nexstar.
  14. Hearst could take all of the conflicts if they wanted too. Atlanta: Standard keeps WSB 2 (ABC), and Hearst takes WXIA 11 (NBC) WATL 36 (MNT) could go to either. Charlotte: Standard keeps WSOC 9 (ABC) & WAXN 64 (Ind.), Hearst takes WCNC 36 (NBC). Jacksonville: Hearst gets WTLV 12 (NBC) & WJXX 25 as an Independent (ABC goes to Graham's WJXT 4) Standard keeps WFOX 30 (Fox) & WJAX 47 (CBS). Seattle: Hearst takes KIRO 7 (CBS), Standard gets KING 5 (NBC) & KONG 16 (Ind.). Spokane won't be a problem due to COX selling KAYU -TV to Imagicomm Communications. Memphis: Standard keeps WHBQ 13 (Fox), Hearst gets WATN 24 (ABC) WLMT 30 (CW) could go to either. Hearst doesn't like FOX so that is why I avoided giving them any FOX stations.
  15. Lol. At least she will be going to a network where no one cares.
  16. The only way this deal gets done is with Hearst, Graham, Allen, or O&Os getting involved to buy stations in conflict markets. You have to prove that Tegna and Cox won't be the same company. According to the language in the deal currently, it suggests they are. The best thing that Standard can do is Do a full merger of the Tegna and Cox stations and have the companies mentioned above get involved and buy the conflicts.
  17. My point about the Graphics color change is this. I would love to see other CBS O&Os do the same thing even if it is only for Sports or special programming. It keeps the viewer guessing as to what will come next. Maybe even do throwbacks to earlier station packages once in a while. Black and Gold works in Pittsburgh because people associate those two colors with Pittsburgh. It can work in other places too for different seasons, sports teams, culture, and much more.
  18. I will mention a couple of things I believe about KDKA-TV's position in this (due to this being my home market and I watch their news a lot). Why would they change their Identity when they are #1 in every time slot except the morning newscast (which Hearst's WTAE is destroying the other 2 stations) and the 6 PM Newscast (also to WTAE due to the high rated ABC World News Tonight over the CBS Evening News with Norah O Donnell). Even the WPCW 19 local Newscasts are beating the WPGH/WPXI 10 PM Newscast and The National Desk. KDKA also competes with WPGH/WPXI for 6:30 PM viewership over the 2 national newscasts on ABC and NBC (KDKA airs the CBSEN at 7 PM) and probably wins that too. The only thing that needs to change for KDKA-TV is their weekday morning newscast and I hope they will go with a hard news approach instead of a soft news approach. Your Day Pittsburgh is horrible and needs a shake up. I also hope if KDKA does get new graphics like the other CBS O&Os, They will keep its Black and Gold. It actually has made KDKA-TV better (as much as many on this forum hate it.)
  19. How about CBS NYC News Now or CBS 2 News Now?
  20. I actually took that Picture back in May for a Penguins Playoff game. I love that look so much. @RGSJenkins
  21. I will disagree on this for now and believe KDKA-TV will modify it to match the current package when it launches. I don't see them getting rid of the Steelers/Pens/Pirates colors yet.
  22. I'm praying we don't see "CBS News Pittsburgh" branded newscasts because the KDKA name is still very valuable in Pittsburgh. Unless CBS wants to give it up completely to Entercom/Audacy (KDKA-AM [100.1/1020 Newsradio] and KDKA-FM [93.7 The Fan]) but I'm probably wrong. I would love to see a refresh of the black and gold graphics from 2020 though with the new look. I do believe if the CBS Owned CW stations get sold to Nexstar/Mission (as I mentioned in The CW being sold to Nexstar board) , The newscasts on the CW stations will move online only for good and Nexstar will replace them with a National NewsNation segment (similar to The National Desk).
  23. Breaking News : WABC-TV News Director, Rehan Aslam, passed away in Ohio this morning. For nearly a year, Rehan had been battling an aggressive brain tumor. He fought with bravery and optimism until the very end. https://www.facebook.com/100044295403305/posts/pfbid02h8nkCLcMZFxJxvNTLV6pEoSC4nmzQe3pCnUvdMy7cCmjnS3CSLo15ZYNeNQEXqyAl/?sfnsn=mo
  24. In my opinion, If Nexstar has enough money to buy the debt caused by The CW, They have enough money to buy out the syndication rights to stop airing "In The Heat Of The Night"/others and air continuous news like every other NEWS network does. Nexstar needs to stop making excuses for moving people to digital and actually get serious about Breaking News because If they don't, Not only will others surpass them, but no one would want to buy NewsNation if Nexstar ever wants to sell it. This is a massive failure from every side imaginable and the person to blame is Perry Sook and his sky high retransmission fees/greed.
