Raegan Medgie posted on IG that she has left WABC. Unclear if it was her choice or theirs.
-
Yeah, but he said he wanted to get home for dinner with his family. It's a longer trip now that they're downtown.
-
They should get rid of David Navarro, let Bill do 4 and 5, and put Mike at 6 and 11. But that's not happening.
-
I'm guessing that getting up at 2am for the morning news was probably more enjoyable than having to deal with the Adams mess right now.
-
For those who remember her, Kayla Mamalak (now Altus), formerly a morning reporter at Fox5, is now Mayor Adams' press secretary. She had been deputy but when she came back from maternity leave recently, she was promoted. You can hear her telling reporters that they're not going to discuss other stuff in Friday's press conference. Talk about an unpleasant job to have right now!

So they tape the news break and don't broadcast that one live? I know that GMA3 isn't live, it's taped at 10am (and I thought they were rearranging their schedule so it would air live). The insert always seemed sort of haphazard, no introduction and often interrupts a commercial.
-
Someone screwed up and showed a repeat (yes, repeat) of the mid-show break-in newscast with Sandra Bookman during GMA3 today. The show itself was not a repeat. I've never seen that before. Learned about the inauguration moving indoors and 40-degree temperatures again.

Ali Bauman from WCBS did that, too. The story was put on hold when congestion pricing was postponed.
-
Wasn't she always friends with Trump? As for the rest of the folks at Fox5, I noticed last week that Natasha and Bianca were going after LA mayor Bass after the Post reported that she had rejected the help from NYC firefighters. The Post article was updated to say that she denied that happened (maybe even before it was discussed on the broadcast), but I doubt that was ever reported on the air.
-
So basically, she was perfect for that show.

And now they'll be in the congestion pricing zone, which they were not at the current studio. It's been mildly amusing seeing reporters who you know are going to be affected by it do stories about it. Fox5 will be the only one outside the zone.

Byron Miranda doing morning and evening weather this weekend.

Lisette Nunez has left the station. Hayley Fixler (most recently in NC) seems to be her replacement. They look fairly similar, at least at a glance. In fact, I was wondering if Lisette had not actually left when I saw Hayley doing a story. Update -- Lisette ended up at the ABC station in Chicago. Seems like she has family there.

Did not realize that they vote in markets other than their own. But you're right, it seems like almost everyone gets one. Still, seems kind of ironic that someone who never officially got the anchor position won the award. That seems like a major step down. I wonder what he did to get the boot and have to settle for something like that?

Alexa Farrell is joining PIX11 as the new traffic anchor on Monday. She's married to Ryan Kristafer of FOX5. She's most recently from FOX61 in CT, but before that apparently spent six years at News12. She was a news anchor at both of those, so this seems like a step down, but I guess it's NYC. Alexa Farrell (@alexanfarrell) • Instagram photos and videos Update - still not on the air as of Tuesday.

In an ironic twist, Teresa Priolo won the NY Emmy for news anchor, even though she never officially had the job and was replaced. She told me that they are able to submit their own tapes, and she did. She wasn't even at the awards ceremony. Maybe it gets her an anchor job at another station where they have more brains.

People on social media thought she was going to be the new traffic person when she teased a big announcement on Saturday.
-
Star Harvey announced that she is leaving on 11/3. No word on where she's going, but it's not New York. Wouldn't be surprised if she ended up back in LA or at least California based on her social media posts and frequent visits back there.
-
Yes, it's been awhile. Was it announced? His social media is quiet.
-
Natasha Verma posted on social media that she's co-anchoring the Sunday night newscasts with Arthur Chien during football season. Also, no on-camera meteorologist tonight, they just showed the forecast.
-
Her Linkedin has the #OpenToWork tag.

Oops I see this was reported above.

And WNBC did it again this week. Same for MSNBC, they had their weekend people. WABC brought in Bill and Sade for the 11pm news.
-
PIX11 news went on right after the Mets game ended at ~4:50pm on Sunday. Kaity came on, but announced that they were switching to NewsNation for coverage of the Biden news. Not clear if they ever went back to local because I'd had enough of them after five minutes, but she was on at 10 with local news. I know that NN was still on at 6pm when The Broadway Show was supposed to air.
-
WNBC is the only one of the O&O not to bring in their weekday anchors for the 11pm newscast on Sunday to cover the Biden news. In other interesting (or unusual) news, Dave Price is doing Sports Final at midnight.
