Back today.

Liz was back today. My wife was watching and said that no mention was made of why she was out, but she was obviously given a warm welcome back.

I wanted to mention that I think that Jessica is excellent. She has done early AM and weekend spots, as well as the usual weekday afternoon/evening. She recently won her first Emmy Award from her News12 days. I am proud to see that she's actually from my town in Westchester.

It probably also doesn't help that they haven't added a traffic reporter. John and Alex Denis used to be a great combination.

John got screwed when he was moved to weekends, he posted at once point that it was not his choice. As for Elise, she's bland, as is the entire weekday morning show.

I think she was on maternity then. But she never returned to anchoring regularly, and doesn't seem to fill in as often as Natalie Duddrige or even Ali Bauman do these days.

Although she was off last week, I just noticed that Adelle's Instagram handle is now Adelle4NY and her description says that she's on 4-7am every morning. So she's finally the permanent replacement for Lauren. Update: I noticed that they still have @AdelleCaballero on the screen, but that's not what she's currently using on IG.

Yes, but at least she posts occasionally. I was just trying to figure out what Christina Park has been up to after walking away because of her concerns over an unsafe work environment due to construction. The only activity I've seen from her is two tweets last year when Kat Creag passed away (and I hadn't noticed those until today).

She would have to do it remotely from Florida. And I don't want to say bad things about people, but from what I have seen on IG, I think she's not really TV-presentable these days. Not like it's happening, anyway. But yes, great news for Kirstin and Craig. I'm guessing the powers that be do not see Kala as anchor material.

I'm guessing that if you were to look at the ratings, you would find a somewhat sizable increase in viewership in the 6-7am hour, at least in New York. WNYW goes to dual anchors (when they have someone available) then, and WPIX switches to their main anchors and has Byron start with weather then.

New blog entry by Chris Cimino explaining how he got the job at PIX11 and what he's gone through since leaving WNBC Weathering the Changes in Life - What’s Next Chris? (chrisciminoweather.com) Also mentions that he and Marysol will be co-hosts of a lifestyle show in the 10-11am hour. I guess that means that the news anchors won't have to work a five-hour shift anymore. And hopefully it means that Ben Aaron will be gone, since he is best taken in very small doses IMHO,

Did you see an announcement, or is that based on who was there today? Because that's been different almost every day. Kayla did 6-7 on Monday and three days last week. And I have typically not seen Bianca doing 9-10 except maybe one segment she reported. The only part I agree with is 4:30-6 is Dan solo.

Lori came back and then was gone for a week or so again. What was odd was that they replaced her with Teresa Priolo (which, like Kayla in the AM, is fine with me) and Teresa did the 6pm newscast instead of having a regular like Steve Lacey do it. Yesterday, when Steve was out, but Lori was back, she's anchoring 5pm solo with no sub (but maybe it was a last minute thing since he was back on Tuesday). Between that and the 6am hour, strange stuff going on at WNYW.

Yes, Kayla did three days last week and was on this Monday as well. Having the co-anchor only for the 6-7 hour is consistent with what they've done in the past when they had a substitute anchor for the early show. I do not understand what's going on with Bianca and the 6am hour. If she's not doing it anymore, why isn't she on the 9-10am hour instead?

Bianca wasn't on for the 6am hour this week, but she still wasn't anchoring with Rosanna in the 9-10. She did have a feature segment in that hour today. Not sure what's going on.

So obviously I was incorrect in my thinking that Alice was moving to the network. She just posted that it was her ninth anniversary at WCBS.

Well, Monday morning should be interesting, with Chris Cimino starting and possibly Vanessa returning, and the snow being forecast. And will we have a new traffic reporter finally?

Not sure what your reference to "down the block" is, since WNBC is at 50th and 6th, so nowhere near WPIX.

Chris posted on FB that he'll be doing weather from 4-6am and lifestyle reporting from 10-11. No word on who's doing traffic.
