TMZ actually reported that today, and they also said that Amy & T.J. were made aware of that decision this morning. The story I read even has quotes from ABC News President Kim Godwin on the subject (supposedly, these quotes were from an editorial meeting at ABC News this morning). Unfortunately, I don’t have the link, but if you Google “TMZ Holmes Robach,” it should be one of the first stories that come up…..

How long do contracts like these last (or specifically, contracts like the ones HLN has with cable companies), I’m curious? I’m not one to speculate, but I’m guessing the future of HLN can’t be good once the contracts you mentioned expire….

Since Scripps owns the MTN (Montana Television Network) group of stations, I just thought I’d post it here…. Pretty disturbing story about their political reporter, Ashley Nerbovig (you may want to click on the affidavit in the story surrounding her arrest—it’s pretty bizarre!!): https://montanatalks.com/montana-tv-political-reporter-arrested-on-burglary-charge/

NBC Considering Giving 10pm/9pm Back To Affiliates
J1975am replied to Georgie56's topic in General TV
Yes. Yes they would. -
Wait: Isn’t Maury Povich calling it quits with his show at the end of this season?? That alone might be the reason why the show will soon be off WJZ’s airwaves…..

I’m not sure the issue is with CBS; the ratings for Y&R have declined over the last several years (as has the entire soap genre itself), so maybe that is the reason why management at WNCN moved Y&R back to midday (and also why KMOV & WAFB moved the show back to midday, as well). Maybe I’m wrong…..
-
I don’t think it was a CBS mandate; I think the decline in ratings nationally of Y&R (not to mention the decline of the entire soap genre itself to the point that there are only 4 on the air) probably gave management a reason to move Y&R to its in-pattern network time….. It’s probably the same reason WAFB in Baton Rouge moved Y&R from afternoons back to its in-pattern time of 11a (Central Time) a couple of years ago; in their case, the show had aired in the afternoon since the late ‘80s!

KLFY is starting up a local lifestyle show of their own in the afternoon (at 3:30p, to be exact) starting on January 10th. It is called "Acadiana Live," and is hosted by Lidia Alcala. The promo for the show is here at this link: https://www.klfy.com/acadiana-live/acadiana-live-klfys-all-new-lifestyle-show-premieres-jan-10/#!/ As her KLFY bio states, she is fresh out of college, too (a UL Lafayette graduate): https://www.klfy.com/author/lidia-alcala/ Currently, a second run of "Judge Judy" is airing in the 3:30p timeslot.......

KATC is now using the Scripps graphics and music (and they kept Robert Burton as their longtime station voice, too)…. Hard to believe “The One and Only” Gari package is gone after 23 years at KATC…..
-
Looks like KATC has changed some of their weather graphics (at least on their website). Here's an example.......
-
I agree. Both the colors and the size of the letters in the graphics are just not pleasing to the eye (the human eye, that is).......

My guess is they probably needed authorization (i.e., paperwork) to drop off the fruit basket and cake LOL.... Reminds me of the time David Letterman, during his days at NBC, once tried to bring a fruit basket to GE's headquarters only to be told he needed authorization, and he and his crew were later thrown out of the area by the company's rude security people; this was right around the time GE bought NBC in the mid-'80s On that note, if you watch the Letterman clip on YouTube, right when Dave and his crew start filming near the GE building, you'll see at least 3 or 4 people a number of feet behind Letterman emerge from the building with a look of shock and disbelief on their face! Apparently, they had no idea he was coming!

Seconded.

The song that opened up the 10p news on KTLA at the time is "Now That You've Gone" by Chicago (from the album Chicago V; this song, Saturday in the Park, and Dialogue, are three of the best songs on the album, as well as some of Chicago's best songs overall!) Also, aside from his TV work in L.A., Clete Roberts was probably best known nationally for his appearances on M*A*S*H, where he interviewed the members of the 4077th (The Interview and Our Finest Hour are the episodes in question)

Let’s not also forget WTVQ is also the station that hired Erica Bivens not long after she and Chelsea Ambriz were fired after they came to blows in public during their time at WSAZ. (Ambriz, meanwhile, is doing well over at WeatherNation)

Yeah, you're probably right......

All I can say is thank goodness for CBS This Morning!! (Newsy is another worthy alternative, with Alex Livingston doing a wonderful job in mornings on the channel!)
-
Is it the fact that she has so many hashtags in her tweet, or is it the way the video starts that's troubling you (w/her putting her makeup box down)?
-
No. The weekend schedule has been like that since Banfield started in March of this year (that was the month of the first expansion of programming and the rebrand of WGN America to NewsNation).......

I don't think this will work on a channel like NewsNation. I think there are plenty of Nexstar stations that have locally produced shows with segments like that (i.e., "pay for play" segments). But then again, what other group doesn't have stations with local shows like that? In NewsNation's case, I think it depends on the crime itself and who is involved (although I don't think they would amplify it to Today or GMA level). When NewsNation does a story like that which takes up a few minutes of airtime, they usually call on a reporter from the Nexstar station in the market where the crime occurred. If it was a really big story, then they usually call on people like Tom Negovan, Nancy Loo, or Markie Martin to cover it, depending on the region where this occurs....... If you go to newsnationnow.com, they do have at least one or two local crime stories worth highlighting (that depends on the day and time when you're at the site, and what the crime is, of course).......

They still do; Nosey has a channel on PlutoTV and I did catch an episode that was on the channel a couple of days ago. It was from around 1995 or '96 (I think that's the time frame of episodes Nosey has the rights to)......
