Some KPNX from 1992/93 -- sadly no open, but it's a treat worth looking at.
Also KARK using News 88

Never seen this WOOD-TV open before...

For some reason there was a vintage KPHO open from early 1986 that got posted by the same user, but it got taken down.
Also I hope that channel uploads some KPNX from 1992-93, that's another Phoenix rarity right there.

WVIT (Hartford, CT) November 25, 1992 11:00pm
Is that the WMGM News Package by Gari Media Group? It sounds very much like "The One For All" but with that classic Gari-esque early '90s synthesizer.

A WHO-TV promo from 1985. I wonder where you can find the open on the NMSA where they're using the KSL 1981 Theme?

This channel has posted some Tulsa news footage, some of which are extremely rare.
This video reveals more of KJRH's Scripps-mandated set.
This one has a KTUL newscast with Judd Hambrick (!!)
And this reveals KJRH's open using WWL News.

WTEN (Albany, NY) May 1, 1993 6:00pm - Hmmmm, where have I seen this design before???
And a ++1 for another vintage Albany newscast! Seems like WNYT is the one that doesn't have barely anything from their archive though...

WNYT getting ready to launch a 4:00 newscast. It will be anchored by veteran Benita Zahn and Jerry Gretzinger, who used to work at WRGB CBS 6. It will go on the air September 11th.

This does confirm their "Stay in Touch with 10" theme did start in 1983:
Speaking of that, I'm really shocked that there isn't anything really from the "Take a Look" era of WTSP (1979-83). The only known footage of 10 from that era is this 8-second clip from early 1983 about Jon Crane's arrival:
If you listen closely you can hear Take a Look in the background.

Not sure if this is helpful, but here's some info on KPNX's old set. Not sure if they were owned by Gannett at the time, but it sure looks similar to some of the other sets from that era within that company.
This does help... in fact, KARK in Little Rock had that same set, albeit having a "4" carved on the main news desk.

Who did the mid-80 Scripps sets? I know WEWS, WCPO and WMC had them.
So did WPTV and KJRH. The latter using that set is pretty rare, but there is a 1986 news brief with Beth Rengel where a "blue background" is shown behind her, which is part of that set. I wish we could find more KJRH from that period, but that's just typical Oklahoma television for ya.

Speaking of that design, I didn't realize how many tweaks that KABC set got over time (the second picture best representing what spread to WABC and WLS), and that it lasted for about a dozen years.

WLS and WXYZ actually used the same sets pre-1983 (though the latter had this gone by '84):

WRCB update with a logo ive never seen before and Bill Markham.

I'll see what I can find in my archives from Phoenix - definitely have some 90s KNAZ coming soon. (Unfortunately nothing new can be uploaded until Monday...)
Jim
See if you can find any KPNX from 1992-93 -- that era is RARE!

The hits keep on coming! No Phoenix news material but the KNXV promos are a nice bonus and the regional Satellite News Channel stuff is pretty darn rare.
So do the KTVB hits:

Tail end of a WLKY open I've never seen before... 1997
Speaking of WLKY, I have been searching for a newscast during their Gannett era. The closest I could find was this vintage clip from former anchor Liz Everman's Facebook. It's from August 1980, but they haven't implemented the new Gannett colors yet.
