  1. Did WYFF keep the JCBD graphics when they switched to Primetime News?

Also KMGH from 1985 (transitional period: they started using "Turn To News" but they still have the "News 7" branding and Roger Thompson):

You can see some small promos at 2:01 and 15:01, as well as a news break at the end.

  2. A KPNX documentary from 1979 about their news helicopter, piloted by the great Jerry Foster. This confirms that they changed their call letters in 1979 (FCCInfo.com states the call letter change occurred April 14, 1980 as well as Wikipedia at one point)

  3. Yes it is. A good amount of the article went to describing the new "9 News Now" 5pm newscast (NMSA sample 1) which was geared to women and aired after Oprah. However, the "this year" mentions for KPNX are another nail in the idea of News Station in 1992. So too is the newspaper mention I found that said KPNX changed slogans sometime in April.

This is what they were using in 1992 at KPNX (there's also the open in the NMSA, which is my white whale and I've wanted to see it for years):

I read that KPNX debuted "News Station" on April 30.

  4.

This was taken from KOTV in Tulsa during its "KOTV 6 News" era. A couple highlights include a promo for Clayton Vaughn and Karen Carlsen (at 23:55), a weather bulletin at 11:35, and a Ragu commercial at 41:12 voiced by Doug Paul.

YouTuber munecojim has a lot of Guiding Light episodes from KOTV on his channel, besides this one.

  6. Another Fourth of July goodie - KSDK in 1983! This was during the ownership transition from Pulitzer to Multimedia.

At 5:17 we get a weather update from Dave Murray (now at KTVI) and a talent promo (Dick Ford and Karen Foss) at 6:28. Yes, Chuck Conners was the VO even then.
