I think they just wanted larger boxes. The ones in this package were still 4:3 safe if I recall and most of these newscasts live in double boxes now. I can’t imagine anything from this current look, which was a pretty lame evolution of the previous look, will show up in their new package.

The Weather Channel has had no problem covering local severe weather remotely for what... 30 years or more now? I'm sure this won't be a huge issue for whatever this is Fox ends up doing.

How dare that commercial station commercialize a commercial during this commercial-related holiday season?! OUTRAGE.

If he loses his job, there's a pipeline to WDJT from WITI via their new GM... put money on it.

I can tell you the most likely scenario - a producer somewhere felt it "needed to be special"! That is how stations go off-brand 99.9% of the time. (The other .1%, well actually considerably larger than that, is when sales sells something and doesn't let the creative team know so now we need to shoehorn a massive heating and air company logo into a 7-day forecast banner or ticker design... and you won't even be able to make it out... but hey, it's added value so... )

Imagine being one of the many reporters who were offered weeklong tryouts for the spot on Get Up and getting slapped in the face like this. Really poor news leadership over there. Absolutely pathetic.

This guy is disgusting. Most of his stories are completely made up. After running into him at a bar in Oakland a few years ago and seeing how he behaved, this all makes sense. Glad finally someone is saying something.

There’s no way he’s #2 for long.

Hearing it was a control room meltdown. Something was recorded for the west coast. I personally experienced the power outages in DC this afternoon but I can only imagine our friends at network have generators... edit: audio board died

I worked with a news anchor who battled an alcohol addiction. It's not just about someone having too much fun and getting carried away, there sometimes are much deeper issues we don't know about. My co-workers and I tried to build up a strong support network around her, but she still ended up losing her job and eventually her life due to this addiction. When we're talking about on air talent on this website, I don't think it's a lot to ask that you try to have some kind of respect for the person - as we have no idea what they were going through when they made the decisions they did.

It's based off the 2019/2020 CBS network graphics package. I've recycled the same pieces for some projects.

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion
noggi replied to ABC 7 Denver's topic in Corporate Chat
Byron Allen isn't going to run the day to day operations of a local station group. If he acquires TEGNA, the corporate management team comes with it. This may come as a complete shock and surprise to you all but local stations are about more than news music, sets and graphics... TEGNA has a large corporate staff to help their 60+ stations run their day to day broadcast, digital and sales ad ops.- 3735 replies

Not sure if it was mentioned here, but these were designed by Drive : https://www.instagram.com/drivestudio/ | http://drivestudio.com/ They were trying to emulate video game graphics which kinda makes sense. It does have a Madden feel to it, especially that Touchdown graphic. That said, I usually love Drive's work - this one missed the mark for me.

Not sure if this is the place for it - but if you have a few hundred dollars you can own an old sign from WESH.

They don't carry the significance they once did before social media. Some folks at my station don't have a bio mostly because they didn't get around to writing one.

The Cox Jacksonville stuff looks like a Renderon Scripps/Hothaus KTRK knockoff. Cox doesn’t have an “agreement” with Hothaus but most of their Creative Directors are familiar with the company and use them for their graphics packages.

http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/109876/sinclair-handing-out-1000-bonuses Say what you want about Sinclair, and there is plenty to say, but do you see any of the station groups out there doing this? The word "bonus" is unheard of at most groups in this industry.
