  1. Um, WAPT is still using the Diagrid V2 graphics, and this open is from August 30.
  2. Now the remaining stations are KCCI, WXII, WJCL, WVTM, WMTW, KSBW, WAPT, WPBF, WTAE, and WGAL. I imagine they're going to get the new look in the next couple of weeks.
  3. So far, the remaining stations are still using Diagrid v2. That still leaves KCCI, WYFF, WXII, WJCL, WVTM, WMTV, KSBW, KETV, WDSU, WAPT, WPBF, WTAE, WBAL, KOCO, WGAL, and WLKY.
  4. When KOAT switched to Diagrid v1 back in 2013, they still had the koat.com bug from the floating logo package the first few days but then changed the bug to match.
  5. Are there more stations receiving the new graphics tomorrow or next week?
  6. KOAT also launched their new graphics.
  7. I am wondering if this will be in the same order as the rollout of diagrid v2 in 2018: NBC stations first, then WLKY & KCCI, and then the ABC stations (although WCVB and WMUR just switched to the new look). Also, it would be interesting if some stations rebrand their newscasts upon getting the new look, especially as there has been a tendency to drop either the eyewitness news or the action news moniker in recent years. Imagine KOAT rebranding their newscasts to something like "KOAT 7 News" and they also stop using Bank Gothic in the logo.
  8. What other stations will get the new look around the same time as WESH?
  9. He's been the voiceover at KOAT since 2008 when he replaced the late Chris Clausen, and he also replaced Clausen on WGAL the same year.
  10. And this rollout will be quicker than the last one in 2018 (Diagrid v2 being rolled out first to NBC stations, then WLKY & KCCI a month later, and finally the ABC stations), right? Is WESH switching to the new look on Monday?
  11. Will it be like the last roll-out except ABC stations are the first get the new look (WCBV & WMUR switched over), or will it be random this time? I can't wait for KOAT to get the new graphics.
  12. Here's the thing. WMUR used to use different graphics packages than WCVB and the rest of the Hearst group. Soon after they were acquired by Hearst in the early 2000s (then known as Hearst-Argyle), WMUR used a customized version of the camera graphics, which was also used by KITV; and they were using The B Package for their theme music. The reason for this was because WCVB and WMUR were overlapping, given their proximities to one another. They had to avoid confusion due to FCC regulations at the time. WMUR also continued to use the B Package until 2011 when they switched to the Hearst TV News Music Package, using the signature "No One Covers New Hampshire Like We Do". In 2013, they debuted their customized version of the diagrid v1 graphics and the Hearst Classic music package. And in 2019, WMUR received an updated version of their customized graphics, still looking different from WCVB, but now optimized for 16:9 instead of 4:3.
  13. WCVB was the first station to receive the new graphics, then followed by Gulf Coast News. So will WESH be the next station to receive the update, and then the rest of the Hearst group?
  14. Does anyone know an exact timeline on when the gfx update is expected to be rolled out to all stations?
  15. I'm wondering how long this will get rolled out to the other Hearst stations. With the last update (diagrid v2), all stations switched to the refreshed graphics 2018, albeit in phases. WESH debuted the new look in January of that year; and it was subsequently rolled out to the remaining NBC stations in February, KCCI & WLKY in March, and finally the ABC stations in April.
  16. I wonder how long the graphics rollout to the other stations is going to take. With the last update (diagrid v2), all stations switched to the refreshed graphics in 2018, albeit in phases. WESH debuted the new look in January of that year; then subsequently, it was rolled out to the other NBC stations in February, then KCCI and WLKY in March, and finally the ABC stations in April.
  17. KOAT just got the updated Hearst open that was introduced last summer, but they still use the old open after the first commercial break.
  18. If not, I think the WBBH graphics are just custom-made for that station because I haven't seen it being rolled out to more stations in the Hearst group, especially since some stations began using the Diagrid 2.5 open during the summer of 2024, months before WBBH switched to their version of the Hearst graphics. I say this because during the floating logo era, some stations used their own modified versions of those graphics (e.g. WLKY, KOCO).
  19. It looks like another update to the diagrid package, only appearing more rectangular. And the Strive music package is still being used, just with newer cuts. What I am referring to is a complete overhaul of the graphics and music, like when the diagrid graphics and Strive debuted in 2012, or when the rings graphics package was introduced in 2004 (in that case, however, most stations started using NewsMusic Central's Hearst TV News Music Package before switching from camera v2 to rings). Only other difference between this update and the last two is that WESH is not the first station to be using the updated graphics.
  20. That being said, I was expecting an entirely new graphics package for the Hearst group because with the previous two graphics packages (camera and rings), there was only like one update and then they get replaced with new graphics along with new music. The camera graphics were introduced in 1995 w/ Gari's Image News as the theme music. Package was updated in 1998 along with newer cuts of Image News, but some stations instead used the B Package (now Revolution). KITV and WMUR used a customized version of these graphics in 2002. In late 2003/early 2004, most stations dropped Image News or the B Package in favor of the Hearst-Argyle TV News Music Package by NewsMusic Central. Around the fall of 2004, the rings graphics debuted. I believe KOCO was the only station that didn't switch to the NewsMusic Central music package until they dropped the camera graphics package in favor of this one. The package was updated in 2007, and, for many stations, a floating 3D rendition of their logos was used in the background. Diagrid debuted during the summer of 2012 along with Strive by InTheGroove music. Package was updated in early 2018 to be more 16:9 friendly, with newer cuts of the Strive music package. A new open for newscasts debuted earlier this year on some stations.
  21. I went on to a few other stations' websites, and yes, there are other stations still using the old opens – WESH, KSBW, KCRA, WLKY, KETV, WPTZ, WCVB, KOCO. WTAE also looks to be using a mix of both. WYFF and WISN are using the new open.
  22. Looks like KOAT is still using the old open. What other stations haven't switched to the new one yet?
  23. Here's an article about the new set in DC; Norah got a glimpse, but it's still under construction. So I suppose the CBS Evening News is going to move to Washington next month sometime probably, if not the end of this month. https://www.newscaststudio.com/2019/10/19/cbs-evening-news-dc-studio-preview/
